Van Mahotsav was celebrated in APS extension with zeal on 5th July 2019. The basic idea of the celebrating the occasion of Van Mahotsav was to instill in the students an affinity towards environment and Mother Nature. Children were emphasized with the idea of conservation of our green cover by tree plantation and protection of the existing green cover. Teachers lined up the students in assembly area and they were demonstrated the methods of tree plantation and then the students were made to do the same under guidance of their respective teachers. Overall the students enjoyed.

Class I activity on “Van Mahotsav”
“Let us Nurture this Mother Earth to make it a better place to live”.
Class I students celebrated Van Mahotsav with the pleasure of taking a Nature walk in the school premises Emphasis was given to enhance their knowledge regarding the different herbs,shrubs and trees in the school garden. Students were also told about the importance of plants in our life and were encouraged to plant more and more trees whenever and wherever possible.

Morning Assembly at APS Extension on 17.05.2019
The topic for morning assembly was “Happy Summer Holidays” as it was the last working day for students and they are going for summer break. Children were encouraged to have healthy diets, keep themselves safe from heat strokes and do enjoyments with their families and friends. They were wished to have the most beautiful vacation and we are waiting to hear a lot of new stories from them when they come back. Until then, enjoy the time to the fullest! Come back safely!

All round development of the students is the foremost aim of today’s education system. Keeping in view the priority of the importance of the physical activities in a child’s life, an Inter House Football Match was conducted for the boys of Class IV. Knock out matches were conducted on 14th May,2019 followed by final match on 15th May,2019. The excited players enthusiastically participated in the match and audience cheered them. Akbar House secured the first position with a score of 2-0 against Shivaji House (at 2nd Position) and Pratap House bagged the third position

Card Making Activity on “Mother’s Day” Class I to V (Dated 10th May,2019)
‘God cannot be present everywhere, So he created mother.’
Mother’s Day is something everyone can relate to. Keeping this bonding emotion in mind, we at APS Bathinda, conducted a card making activity on the topic’ Mother’s Day’ for class I to V. Students made beautiful and colourful card and took part in the activity with the lot of enthusiasm and zeal. The outcome of their efforts was marvelous. Each card was special and unique in its own way.

Card Making Activity in APS Extension (10.05.19)
Card making activity was conducted on 10.05.19 for class I & II in their activity classes on account of Mothers Day, to express respect, honor and love towards mothers. Card Making helps them to develop their motor skills and provide enough fuel that enhances their curiosity and also helps them in coordinating their creative prowess while giving personal touch and carrying special emotional values.

An activity “Health is Wealth” was conducted in APS Bathinda on 3rd May, 2019 for the students of class I. The motive of the activity was to inculcate healthy habits among the students. They enthusiastically participated in frog race, hop race, snake walk, P.T, dance and music. The ultimate aim of the activities was to enhance student’s confidence, work potential and mind-body co-ordination.

English calligraphic writing was taught upon to the young students of Class I and II in APS Extension. The students were encouraged to learn the art of calligraphy to improve their writing skills. This also helped them in improving their hand eye coordination as they had to continuously listen to the instructions of their teacher and implement the same in their writing pages.

A good handwriting ensures and enhances the quality education, further enabling the young students attain the holistic development. To achieve this goal of holistic development an English Calligraphy for the students of class I to V was conducted on 7th May, 2019 in APS Bathinda. All the students enthusiastically exhibited their handwriting skills. The best three entries were selected from each class for appreciation and motivation of the children.

Students of Class I and II performed Dance Steps on drum beats on 3rd May 2019 and demonstrated their skills at the APS Extension under the guidance of their respective Dance Teachers. The performance was highly appreciated by the staff and other teachers. This was done to encourage the young students in developing confidence to face the audience on the stage and to enhance their skills in co-curricular activities.

APS Extension celebrated “Go Green” extra curricular activity to educate and inspire the young budding children about the importance of “Earth Day” that falls on 22nd April every year. Children brought plant saplings from their homes which they planted under the supervision of their Class Teachers. The aim of the activity was to develop affinity and sensitivity towards mother nature. They were encouraged to bring green vegetables/ fruits in their tiffin to value the importance of healthy diet.

“Tree Plantation encourage us to reflect on what we are doing to make our planet a more sustainable and livable place”. Motivating the students for the same, a Tree Plantation Drive was conducted in APS Bathinda on 26th April 2019 by the students of class I. Students brought saplings and planted at different locations in the school premises. APS extension also conducted the Tree Plantation drive activity for Class I students. The students enthusiastically participated in the activity and were seen very excited to plant their saplings.

An Inter House Soft Board Decoration Competition was held in the Primary Wing on 22nd April 2019.The purpose of the competition was to promote creativity and responsibility among young students. The theme of the competition was ‘Earth Day’. This competition not only helped the students display their artistic talent but also brought them together as a team and the students performed their task enthusiastically.

A special assembly was conducted on World Heritage day on 18th April, 2019 in the Primary Wing. The aim was to highlight the need to preserve the human heritage and recognize the efforts of all relevant organizations in the field. Students of class V- J presented the special Assembly. Pledge and a short speech was delivered by the students. Some quotes were displayed beautifully on the banners to emphasize the importance of World Heritage Day.

Activity conducted in APS Extension
Student of class 1 were welcomed and familiarised with the school by taking them to a short trip of the school. This helped them mitigate their inhibition and adopt to the new school in a homely fashion. A small stretching session was organised for students of Class 2 as part of physical activities to warm them up and to also improve their hand – eye co ordination.

Talent Hunt is an event, which gives a platform to students to exhibit their talents in diverse fields. Inter APS Talent Hunt Competition was organized on 10th April and 11th April 2019 at APS Bathinda. Students from nine APS of 10 CORPS participated enthusiastically in the event and showcased their talents on 10th of April. Competition in singing, dancing playing instrument and special talents category and group event was held. Around 200 students participated both in individual and group performances. .Prominent personalities from various fields adjudicated the events. Result was declared at the conclusion of the competition. APS Bathinda bagged nine prizes in different categories. On 11th April 2019, best two performances of each category was showcased in honour of the chief guest Lt Gen Raj Shukla VSM, SM, GOC HQ 10 CORPS and Mrs Manjari Shukla who graced the event by distributing prizes and certificates to the winners and the participants. The chief guest addressed the students and exhorted the students and parents to nurture the talent. The function concluded with a vote of thanks followed by a cup of tea for the guests and participants.

With the beginning of the new session, an Orientation Programme for Class-I was organized on 6th April 2019 at APS Bathinda. The aim of the Orientation Programme was to make parents aware about the rules and regulations for the new session (2019-20) for class-I. All the queries of the parents regarding various aspects were addressed by the Principal & respective Co-ordinators.

GOC, HQ 10 CORPS, Visited APS Extension on 05.04.19. The GOC visited APS Extension and reviewed the ongoing development projects to decongest APS Main. The GOC interacted with other senior officers, Principal and gave his valuable inputs regarding the projects. He also interacted with the parents of the students and seeked their inputs regarding improvement in the functioning of school. After this he directed the school authorities to ensure that the points conveyed by parents are implemented in letter and spirit. He also distributed the sweets to the tiny tots of APS EXTENSION.

Tree Plantation
“Trees represent life, growth, peace and nature. “
As the new session begins- Tree plantation was conducted in APS, Bathinda in collaboration with Inner Wheel club on 1st April 2019. Principal APS, Bathinda, Mrs H.Sodhi, Mrs Raj Garg , Distt. Chairman of the club along with the members of the club and the students of APS, Bathinda planted about 25 saplings in the school at different locations. All the members and the students participated enthusiastically in the event.

An Inter House Display Board Competition was held on 22 Feb.2019 in Junior Wing.Theme for the competition was ‘Examination’. To mark the festival of Basant Panchami a special assembly was organised at APS Extension on 8 February 2019. Children presented speech, poems on the importance of the festival. A cultural programme was also presented during the assembly.

Akhil Bhartiya Hindi Olympiad 2018-19 was conducted in Army Public School for classes IIIrd to IXth on Tuesday i.e Jan 22,2019 during the first period. Around 500 students appeared for the olympiad.Students were able to show their writing skills in Hindi to promote Hindi as Rashtrabhasha.

The students of all the houses of Jr.Wg. i.e. Akbar, Ashoka ,Pratap & Shivaji participated with great zeal & enthusiasm.Children showed their talent and creativity to make their house boards attractive and beautiful.

Lohri was celebrated with full fervour at APS Extension 11 January 2019. A special assembly was conducted in which the students of Class 1 participated. Students gave Talk, Thought on the importance of festival. A Bonfire was lit to mark the end of Winter Season. To add fun children performed folk dance of Punjab. The Principal Mrs. Anisha Ghuman motivated the children with her encouraging words.

Tree Decoration Activity (Class-II)
Christmas is the day when there is the festivity all over in the air. On this day people decorate Christmas tree and distribute gifts keeping the tradition of celebrating the festival with fervor and gaiety, the tiny tots of class- II decorated the trees on Christmas in the school premises on 21st Dec 2018. Children along with their teachers participated with lots of joy, enthusiasm and happiness.

Christmas is the day that holds all time together .In virtue of that, Army Public School organized an Inter- house board decoration competition on 20th Dec 2018.Students participated enthusiastically in the competition & showcased their latent creativity. They decorated the soft boards keeping the theme of ‘Christmas’ & ‘New Year’. The students decorated the boards with cutouts, hangings, ribbons, pictures, chart papers & decorative materials.The students gave wide shapes to their imagination by putting their creativity together.

With Christmas around the corner, a special assembly on Christmas was organised at APS Extension on 20.12.2018. The students presented an array of programmes through Carol Singing, Group Dance, Speech and solo performance. The children were filled with joy and excitement as Santa came dancing to the tune of Jingle bells. The message of the assembly was loud and clear come let us embrace the spirit of Christmas by bringing joy and happiness in each other’s lives.

Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat - Bhasha Sangam
The Programme "Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat " has been initiated to celebrate the spirit of national integration. Bhasha Sangam marks the unique symphony of languages of our country. In order to celebrate this unique feature of our country, the Bhasha Sangam initiative under the Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat was started to provide multilingual exposure to students & to create interest in different languages & a curiosity to learn more. The Programme was carried out in a joyful & interesting manner. Five sentences pertaining to the language of the day were read out by the students on the Punjabi, Tamil & Sanskrit on 17th, 18th & 19th of December in the morning assembly, and the students were asked to repeat them. The programme was appreciated by all.

Children’s day (also known as Bal Diwas) was celebrated in Army Public School on14th November. Pandit Jawahar lal Nehru’s birthday is celebrated as children’s day all over india. Children are the future of our country and the key of success and development. They are innocent , admirable, pure and loved by everyone. Special assembly was conducted by teachers of army public school. The assembly started with the morning prayer, thought/poem and a speech. Teachers performedSkit,dance and song for the students. The headmistress (JR.Wg coordn) wished the students a happy children’s day and motivated them to follow the righteous path.

An Inter House Kho-Kho Match ( Knock Out) was held on 1st Nov 2018. Matches were played on knock –out basis. All the houses strived hard throughout the matches to be the champion. Winners of the Knock-out matches are as under:

The final match was held on 2nd Nov 2018 between Akbar House & Shivaji House. All the students of Class V cheered for their teams. All the players put their best efforts to make their team victorious . Akbar House emerged as the winner of the event by defeating Shivaji House. The winner team and the participant teams were cheered by the staff and the students as well.

An Inter House Soft Board Decoration Competition was held in the Primary Wing on 1st Nov 2018.The purpose of the competition was to promote creativity and responsibility amongst small children. The theme was based on ‘Diwali’ to create awareness about clean and green Diwali. This competition not only helped them display their talent, but also brought them together as a team and the students performed their task with unity.
To inculcate the verbal skills and to build the self confidence of the students a “show and tell” activity was organised for class 1 on 26 Oct 2018. The students were informed to bring their favourite toy or any object. Children were excited and showed extreme enthusiasm while performing.

Dussehra is celebrated to mark the victory of good over evil. It is also known as Vijayadashmi. Keeping the festive spirit alive, the activity of preparing 2D or 3D Ravana was undertaken on the occasion for Class-III on 18th Oct, 2018. Drawing and colouring activity was conducted for Class-II in which children participated with great zeal and enthusiasm.

With the aim to develop the motor skills and give the wings to their imagination a clay modelling activity for class I was organised at APS Extension on 11.10.2018. हिंदी दिवस
हिंदुस्तान की शान है हिंदी हर हिंदुस्तानी की पहचान है हिंदी एकता की अनुपम परम्परा है हिंदी हर दिल का अरमान है हिंदी हिंदी दिवस हर साल 14 सितंबर को मनाया जाता है। इस अवसर को मनाने के पीछे सरकार का प्राथमिक उद्देश्य हिंदी भाषा की संस्कृति को बढ़ावा देना और फैलाना हैै । इसी उद्देश्य को मद्देनजर रखते हुए कनिष्ठ वर्ग में कक्षा पाँच के विद्यार्थियों द्वारा प्रार्थना सभा आयोजित की गई। गायत्री मंत्र के साथ प्रार्थना सभा का आगाज़ किया गया और प्रार्थना के बाद विद्यार्थियों द्वारा विचार व कविता के माध्यम से हिंदी भाषा के महत्व पर प्रकाश डाला गया। शिक्षिका अशनीव बसरा ने भी हिंदी भाषा के महत्व पर कविता के रूप में अपने विचार व्यक्त किए।

To enhance the schematic learning through repeatable actions a paper folding competition was organised on 14 September 2018 at APS Extension. Students of class I used their imagination and made beautiful paper craft. They made fish, dog, fan and keenly participated in the competition.

An Interhouse Board Decoration Competition was held on 7th September 2018 in Primary wing. The houses were provided with the theme ‘Examination’. The criteria for judgment was Presentation, Content and Creativity. The students showed their creativity and portrayed their innovative ideas about how to overcome exam fear through pictorial presentation and slogans on the soft boards. All four houses participated in the activity with full enthusiasm and enjoyed it thoroughly.
To inculcate the team spirit among the students and to make sports interesting different races were organized for class 1 students on 7 Sep 2018 . The girls participated in duck race and boys participated with full enthusiasm in frog race.

Janmashtmi Celebration
A special assembly on Janmashtmi was conducted in the Jr.Wg by the choir students. Assembly started with the Gayatri Mantra followed by school prayer, thought, pledge, news and a poem. There was a group song & dance enacted on the childhood of Shri Krishna, where the girls were dressed up as Radha and a boy as Shri Krishna. The programme ended with the National Anthem.

Importance of sports in our life:
Sports play a great role in our life as they keeps us healthy and active. We can have healthy mind only when we have a healthy body. Keeping this in mind we encourage our children to play games and participate in various sporting competition. Air Force School Bhisiana Bathinda organized an inter school sports meet on 29th Aug 2018 for U-10 category. 14 children from our school participated in various events like skating, chess and hurdle race. They brought laurels to our school by securing 2 Gold Medals, 1 Silver Medal and 2 Bronze in various events.

Raksha Bandhan is a special occasion to celebrate bond of Love between brother and a sister. To mark this festival a Rakhi Card Making Activity was organised for the students of Class I on 24 Aug 2018. Children used various articles such as hand made sheets, Rakhis, flower cut out, sequins, stickers and colours to prepare beautiful cards for their brothers and sisters.

A special assembly was conducted by the students of Class IX-F and Class V-K on the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan. The assembly started with Gayatri Mantra followed by a dance performance by the Jr wing students. Bond of sacred thread was beautifully depicted in the form of a skit by the students of Class IX-F. A poem was also recited by the student of V-K. The assembly concluded with the National Anthem.

Planting tree is a must if we want to save our planet. Trees not only remove harmful chemicals from the soil, but also help to reduce the greenhouse effect which leads to global warming. Students were inspired to pledge to plant one tree. Tree plantation programme was held in the school campus on 23rd Aug 2018. The students of Class Vth actively participated in the programme. Students planted many trees to keep the environment clean and maintain the life-support systems of the planet Earth.

Raksha Bandhan is a festival of brothers and sisters. Siblings celebrate their love for each other on this auspicious day. Rakhi Thali contains all the items needed for the ritual. An activity was held on 23rd Aug 2018 for class-III children to decorate thali. Children came up with their brilliant and creative ideas for the decoration. A Rakhi making activity was held for the students of class-IV on 23rd Aug 2018. The students enthusiastically participated in the Activity and came up with very creative ideas.

Thumb Painting activity was held for class II on 9th Aug 2018 and the theme was Independence Day. Thumb painting is an interesting way to paint and encourages the students to use the sense of touch. The students participated with great enthusiasm and had lot of fun.

Pot painting competition was held on 9th Aug 2018. It was an event for the students of class V to paint earthen pots. The theme was Independence Day. The event not only enhances their creative skills and talent but it also enriched the sense of team participation and inculcated a sense of patriotism.

Children of Class I recited beautiful piece of poetry with props.

All India Drawing, Handwriting & Essay Writing Competition 2018-19
The children of today are the citizens of tomorrow, and hence all round development of a child is very important to make sensible, informative & proper citizens. Keeping this in mind our school has organized various competitions for children to inculcate & promote good habits and to build confidence in them. Drawing helps to improve imagination, memory and concentration and Essay writing is important for developing students writing skills.

Kargil Vijay Diwas
आओ देश का सम्मान करें शहीदों की शहादत याद करें जो कुर्बान हो गए मेरे देश पर उन्हें सिर झुकाकर सलाम करें। On Kargil Vijay Diwas, We salute the courage and sacrifice of our soldiers who valiantly fought in the Kargil War. Their bravery and love for Bharat Mata continue to inspire us. Kargil Vijay Diwas was celebrated in APS on 26th july 2018. Students of class II presented a special assembly followed by thought, poem and patriotic song “Ae mere watan ke logo”. Senior wing students also presented a group song “ Ab tumhare hawale watan sathio”. JAI HIND! JAI BHARAT!

Investiture Ceremony 2018-19 Jr. Wing
“Great things are achieved through great leadership and great leaders are created in the four walls of the classroom.” The Insvestiture Ceremony of Army Public School for the academic session 2018-19 was held with great pomp and dignity in a special ceremony at the school assembly area. The event was presided over by the Principal and the Headmistress. They were conferred with badges by our worthy Principal Mam. The student council took the oath to hold the school motto of loyalty, truth and honour in high esteem. The Principal Mrs Anisha Ghuman appreciated and congratulated them. She advised them to be role models and extended a supporting hand to the student council for the smooth running of the school. The function concluded with the National Anthem.

With the aim to make children know about themselves, their city, and class and school, a Self Introduction Activity was conducted in Army Public School Extension for Class I on 27 July 2018. All the students participated. The students spoke about themselves with great zeal.

Aiding the young minds to explore, dream and colour. The little artists of APS extension participated in the competition on 13 July 2018. The students of Class I coloured beautifully in Clown in their Art Book. Children used all types of colours including water colours. The competition is certainly going to add a new innings to their colourful childhood memories.

With an aim to develop creative expression and improve writing skills of the students a Calligraphy Competition was organised for class I students. All the students participated with great zeal and enthusiasm.
To make students understand the importance of planting trees as one of the best ways to prevent global warming and reduce pollution. A Special Assembly was conducted by the students of class III G. The Assembly began with Gayatri Mantra followed by thought, pledge and poem. Students performed a special dance on the song "Let’s plant trees, let's plant more trees". A speech was delivered by Madhav and a poem by Priyanshu of Senior Wing.

The school organized a Book Mark making activity for classes III, IV, V. The students used handmade paper, paints, glitter, adhesive etc for the same. They stuck pictures and wrote quotes on them. They enjoyed making book marks as it was an opportunity for them to display their talent and creativity.

To make students understand the importance of Mother’s Day; a card-making activity was held at APS Extension Bathinda class I children designed their own cards for their loving mothers. The students participated enthusiastically.

Together we can tackle this global crisis! Today's special assembly was conducted by the students of class 3-C on the theme “End Plastic Pollution”. Our strategy to End Plastic Pollution includes: Supporting the adoption of a global framework to regulate plastic pollution.
Educating and mobilizing to take personal responsibility for the plastic pollution that each one of us generates by choosing to reduce, refuse, reuse, recycle and remove plastics.

A beautiful assembly on Mother’s Day was conducted by class IV-H. A motivating talk was delivered on Mother’s emphasizing that a mother is the only creature who knows her child more than anybody. A beautiful poem was recited & enacted by the students.

1st May of every year is celebrated as Labour’s Day.To emphasis the feeling of Labour’Day in the students , a special assembly was conducted by students of Class IV E and Class X D. A thoughtful skit depicting the hard work of labour was shown. A poem was recited and enacted by the Class IV E enlightening the students regarding the plight of the labour class. At the end, a melodious song ‘Saathi Hath badhana’ was sung by the senior wing students.

Physical fitness is the basis for all other forms of excellence. So as to make our children excellent in all forms, final round of the football match was conducted on 1st May 2018. Final match was between Akbar House and Shivaji House. Shivaji House won the match. Children were very excited and cheered the teams throughout the event.

Games and sports have always been an inseparable part of school curriculum. It is the healthiest way of recreation and children enjoy it the most. Keeping forth the same motto, inter house football matches were organized for junior wing students.
The teams of four houses-Akbar, Ashoka, Pratap and Shivaji participated enthusiastically in the knock out round where Akbar defeated Ashoka and Shivaji won over Pratap.
Now the final round will be conducted on 1st May, 2018 where teams of Akbal and Shivaji will compete to claim the winning position.

A special assembly was conducted on 27th April, 2018 to celebrate AWES day. Students sang Awes Song and recited a poem on school. A speech highlighting the reason behind formation of AWES, it’s rising and importance in present day era was delivered wonderfully by the students. It was a great success.

"A classroom without a soft board is barren". Students need to have something to look at besides bare walls. Soft boards teach, inform, inspire and add a feeling of belonging to the classroom. To create an area to showcase the work of students, an activity was conducted in Junior Wing on 20th April where students used their imagination and decorated their classroom soft boards. The theme “Summer Delight” was beautifully drawn out on soft boards by our little stars. Kids enjoyed a feeling of self pride when they were done with the activity. Hence we as their mentors were able to achieve our aim behind this activity that was to nurture their artistic talents and to give children an opportunity to explore their imagination and turn it in to something productive.

Earth Day was celebrated on 18th April 2018 at Army Public school, Bathinda in the school premises. It was a great day to showcase environmental education, highlight efforts to make the school green and engage the student community in making a difference. A short play was enacted depicting how earth can be saved from global warming. Students recited a poem and delivered a wonderful speech on how each one of us in the school can make a difference. Children also pledged to continue their efforts to save the planet and taking an action before it’s too late.

Keeping with the tradition of celebrating all the festivals with fervor and gaiety and introducing the children to their rich culture and heritage a special assembly was conducted on Baisakhi by Class V –E on 13th April 2018. The students of Primary Wing started with a prayer, talk, a pledge and a poem with actions . A song was sung "Dharti Sunehri Amber Neela Ohh….." by the students of Class V and was highly appreciated.

Junior wing special assembly was conducted on World Heritage day on 12th April, 2018. It aims to preserve the human heritage and recognize the efforts of all relevant organizations in the field. Students of class V- D presented a special Assembly. Special pledge, talk was presented and poem was recited by them. Some quotes were displayed beautifully on the banners to enhance the World Heritage Day.

A session on 'Health and Hygiene' was organized for the students of Primary Wing by resource person from Military Hospital, Bathinda on 20 February 2018. In the session she emphasized on washing hands before and after meals and brushing the teeth twice a day. She also laid emphasis on changing the eating habits in order to lead a healthy life. The session was interactive and students enjoyed the session.
