NCC ACHIEVEMENT DURING ATC-121 AT ROPAR (PB)
An Annual Training Camp -121, which is conducted by 20 Pb Bn NCC Bathinda at NCC Academy Ropar from 25 Sep 2019 to 04 Oct 2019. The cadets of all school/colleges under 20 Pb Bn NCC Bathinda participated in this camp. This camp aimed to develop the overall personality of a cadet. Different activities like Firing, Cultural, Sports, Drill Competition were conducted by ATC team during this camp. Our school NCC Cadets 04-JW & 15-JD attended the camp & participated in all the activities and showcased their talent & achieved the following :

BOOK FAIR (9th Oct.2019 to 12th Oct.2019) AT APS BATHINDA
‘Reading is to mind what exercise is to body’

In today’s world of gadgets and technology, habit of reading books is left far behind. To inculcate the habit of reading and to create lifelong readers, Book Fair is being organized in APS,Bathinda in collaboration with Scholastic publishers from 9th Oct,2019 to 12th Oct,2019. The Book Fair was inaugurated by the Chairman APS, Bathinda. Students of different classes will be visiting and exploring the variety of books like fiction, nonfiction, art and craft, activity based books, subject specific books and many more. These books will help the students to explore the world around them.

SWWC INTER APS COMMAND QUIZ COMPETITION
South Western Command Inter APS Command QUIZ Competition held at APS Mathura on 27th September, 2019. 15 teams participated of south western command. APS Bathinda secured second Position. QUIZ team prepared themselves for this competition under the able guidance of Mr. Rajesh and Mrs. Nisha Walia.

APTITUDE TEST BY DISCOBERY CHANNEL AND THE HINDU NEWSPAPER
On 30th September, 2019 and 1st October, 2019 critical thinking and aptitude based competition were conducted in the school by Discovery channel sponsored by BYJU’s and the Hindu newspaper. These tests provided a unique platform for the students to compete and win laurels for themselves and the school. Students participated in these tests and were happy to learn something new.

SOUTH WESTERN COMMAND BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP
Sports is an integral part of life at Army Public School Bathinda. Our senior boys made us proud with their achievement at South Western Command Basketball Championship held at APS Hisar. Competition was from 15th to 18th September, 2019. A total of 15 school participated. Our school secured 3rd position. Army Public School, Bathinda definitely made a mark for itself.

CELEBRATION OF GANDHI JYANTI WEEK.(23-9-2019 TO 1-10-2019)
Mahatma Gandhi is the symbol of peace and truth. Gandhian thoughts , principles, values, and ideals encourage our students to always be with the truth and have non-violent path towards their progress. In order to mark the celebration of 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi some activities were planned on the life and thoughts of Mahatma Gandhi.
23-9-2019: Values of Mahatma Gandhi were explained in morning assembly.
24-9-2019: Community outreach Rally on”Swachata ke liye Gandhigiri” in Abdul Hamid Enclave.
26-9-2019: Gandhi Katha kathan in morning Assembly.
27-9-2019: Inter class slogan writing competition for class VIII.
28-9-2019: Painting and Drawing Competition for classes VI to X.
In the following week assembly was conducted by the students of class IX G under the guidance of Ms Neetu (Class Incharge).Prizes were distributed in the morning assembly for the above said competition by the Principal Mrs. Anisha Ghuman.

WORKSHOP ON NEWSPAPER DESIGNING BY SCHOLASTIC GROUP
News Design is the process of arranging material in a systematic way. Successfully designing a newspaper page encompasses more than experimentation. News Paper Designing workshop was conducted for the students of class VI. Workshop was conducted by Mrs. Neelam of scholastic group .420 students attended this workshop. It was a learning experience for the students. At Army Public School Bathinda overall development of the child is always taken care of. Children really enjoyed this workshop.

BEST CADET IN 20 PB BN NCC (2019)
Simran Kaur Sidhu of class XE (NCC Cadet of 20 Pb Bn) Bathinda got an appreciation certificate from Additional Director General NCC, Chandigarh at Group HQ Patiala on 13th Sep 2019, for her outstanding performance in Training Activities during the year 2019. She has shown excellent performance during ATC –held at Malout from 23 April to 02 May 2019. She got 03 gold & 01 Silver Medals in the events: Guard Commander, Drill, Cultural Activities & Shooting during ATC. She was a Parade Commander during Independence Parade 2019. She also participated in the Declamation contest held at Asra Group of Institution Bhawanigarh on 14 June 2019.

TEACHERS’ DAY CELEBRATION ON 5TH SEP, 2019
Teachers day was celebrated in the school on September 5, 2019. Celebration began at 8 am. Army Public School Bathinda celebrated Teachers’ Day with great fun and enthusiasm. A special assembly was conducted by the Student Council of the school. Assembly began with ‘Guru Vandana’ followed by thought and talk. The function was planned by the Student Council. A cultural programme was planned for the day. Teachers indulged in fun filled activities that was the highlight of the function. After the function teachers were taken to ‘Sagat Singh Auditorium’ for a movie.

JANMASHTAMI CELEBRATION 23rd Aug,2019
India is a land of festivals
Janmashtami is one of the main festival which is celebrated on the account of birth of Lord Krishna who played an important role in Mahabharta and taught us the theory of Bhakti and good karma which are narrated deeply in the Bhagwat Gita. A special combined assembly was presented by the students of Class IX-D and IV-F under the guidance of Mrs. Shivani Rana and Mr. Prince. The assembly started with the Morning Prayer followed by thought, news headlines, Hindi poem by Dhairya and Lavanya Thapa of IV-F. A beautiful dance performance depicting the birth and rasleela of Lord Krishna was given by the students of IX-D and IV-F. The highlight of the celebration was the Inter House Dance Competition (Primary Wing). All four teams representing each house performed in the colourful dresses on the tunes of devotion to Lord Krishna. The assembly concluded with the National Anthem.

SCIENCE CITY IN YOUR SCHOOL
A programme was organised in school by 30 edutainment company on 20 August,2019 in school’s Multipurpose Hall. The 3D edutainment show deals in showing educational and entertainment 3D topics. First man on the MOON, Chotu Dinosaur and Galaxy was shown to the children. Class IV and VII attended this programme.
TALENT SEARCH EXAMINATION CONDUCTED BY MERCHANT NAVY FOR THE STUDENT OF XI AND XII (NON –MEDICAL)
A Talent Search Examination was conducted in school by Merchant Navy for the students of XI and XII. Programme began with the power point presentation of Samundra Institute of Maritime Studies. In the workshop there was a detailed explanation about Merchant Navy such as IMU, Common Entrance Test, Designation, Salaries and so on. At the end, they conducted talent search examination as well .It was a learning experience for the students.

BIDDING ADIEU TO PATRON APS
A farewell was organised in honour of the Patron APS Bathinda Maj Gen Mohan Babu, VSM on 17 August, 2019.School fraternity gathered to bid adieu to Sir. A special morning assembly was held where Sir had an interaction with the students of classes VI to XII, where he encouraged children to keep on learning and becoming a global citizen. He shook hands with the students and guided them with his best wishes. Interaction with teachers was conducted , where Sir motivated the teachers to keep on instilling values and make the students a better citizen. The interaction was followed by a cup of tea.

WORKSHOP ON COMPRESSION ONLY LIFE SUPPORT
A workshop on COLS was conducted on 13 Aug, 2019 and 14 Aug, 2019 at 174 MH Bathinda Cantt. The strength of students were 45 each day from class VII and VIII. The speaker gave PowerPoint presentation on this topic. The primary purpose of this was to guide them the importance of COLS. The workshop began with expert providing an overview of Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). She emphasized the role of COLS and explained how it could be administered. She next highlighted main steps of COLS i.e. 3’C’ check, call, compress, students did practical workshop for students.
PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE
Deworming week was organized at APS, Bathinda from 8th Aug, 2019 to 14th Aug, 2019 for the students from class I to class XII by 48 FHO c/o APO. Students were given the deworming tablets in the school so as to protect them from any kind of worm infestation

It was a proud moment for everyone in APS Bathinda as we celebrated the 73rd Independence Day on 15 Aug, 2019.This great day serves as a great reminder of the sacrifices of the freedom fighters who had contributed a lot and fought for the independence of India. The cultural programme at APS Bathinda commenced with the Saraswati Vandana followed by the flag hoisting by The Chairman, APS Bathinda and the singing of National Anthem. The spirit of nationalism was well exhibited through a spectrum of different items presented in the combined assembly by the students of class IX-C and IV-E under the able guidance of their class teachers Mrs.Jagriti Gupta and Ms. Karanpal Kaur. The programme included thought of the day. “Nanha Munna Rahi Hun” patriotic dance of class I APS Students, patriotic poem by Mohd. Aaquib of class IV-E, patriotic song by the students of class IX-C and a patriotic song by the students of primary wing under the guidance of Mr. Ram Mehar. With the theme Unity in Diversity The Ramp show beautifully exhibited the diversity of India. Tiny tots of APS Extension (Class I & II) presented a group song in their melodious voice. Inter House Dance Competition (Sr.Wing) was a great attraction among the students as the participants of the four houses presented the group dance on patriotic songs.
The celebration concluded with the inspiring words by The Chairman APS Bathinda followed by the distribution of refreshment to the students.

INVESTITURE CEREMONY 2019-20
“Leaders are the role models who inspire the followers and motivate them to reach the goals of success” The investiture ceremony for the academics session 2019-20 was a mush awaited special event of APS Bathinda that took place on 5th Aug, 2019. Primary Wing: The ceremony began with the March Past of the Student Council members (Primary Wing) under the leadership of school captain Junior Akul Dubey and Angeleen Kaur of class V-D. The ceremonial pinning of badges to the student council members was done by the Principal, PAS BTI followed by Junior Wg. Co-ordinator. Senior Wing: The pipping ceremony for the student council members of the senior wing was conducted on 5h Aug, 2019. All the members seemed enthusiastic, thrilled and ready to take up the upcoming responsibilities. The student council members of primary and secondary wing took the oath to abide by the school rules and hold the school motto of loyalty, truth and honour in high esteem. The Principal APS, BTI congratulated the Head girl Ms. Akshita Chhoker of class XII Sci A and Head boy Master Divyankit of class XII Sci A and encouraged the student council to be at their best and take the school to new heights. The ceremony concluded with the singing of National Anthem.

An Inter-School Bhangra Competition “Virse De Waris” held at ‘The Millennium School’, Bathinda on 27th July, 2019. In all 11 schools participated in this event and Army Public School, Bathinda won ‘First’ Position.

WORKSHOP FOR THE STUDENTS OF CLASS XI AND XII
Skill Championship workshop was organized by Makeintern in association with IIT Madras from 26 July to 30 July 2019 On 26 and 27 July 2019 workshop on Ethical Hacking and Cyber security for school students was conducted. On 29 and 30 July 2019 workshop on soft skills was conducted. The student enjoyed the innovative methods and got a chance to display their creativity and had great fun while playing games and performing interactive activities. Student were taken to the playground to test how enhanced their skills are.

FREEDOM IN MIND, FAITH IN WORDS PRIDE IN OUR HEART, MEMORIES OF OUR SOULS
To respect and show gratitude towards the brave soldiers of Indian Army who sacrificed their lives to keep India safe, secure and to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Operation Vijay launched in 1999, the following activities were conducted in APS, Bathinda:
1. Inter Class Poster Making Competition was organized for class V, to show gratitude towards the brave soldiers who sacrificed the lives in the Kargil to safeguard our motherland on 25th July. This competition helped the students to pay tribute to the soldiers through their creative expression and display their artistic skills through an array of posters on this great day. The students showed their abilities through art wherein they exhibited their feelings in the form of quotations, paintings, sketch etc.
2. A special Assembly was conducted on 26th July 2019 by the students of Class X-G and IV-A of APS Bathinda. The assembly started with a prayer followed by a special thought and a patriotic poem by Janvi and Gagan of Class IV-A. A special skit was presented by the students to pay tribute to the brave soldiers who embraced martyrdom during the Kargil War.
Chairman, APS Bathinda praised the students for their marvelous performance and inspired all with his motivating speech and a patriotic song. The whole environment was filled with deep patriotic feelings.
Further SO to Chairman briefed the students about the highlights of the Kargil war.
The assembly concluded with the National Anthem.

INTER HOUSE DISPLAY BOARD COMPETITION
Theme: Nature Love her or lose her Date: Monday, July 15, 2019 EVENT REPORT Inter house events promote a healthy competition and offer opportunities to students to experiment in fields such as art, music and dance. Display Board Competition held for classes VI to XII. They were provided with the theme ‘Nature: Love her or lose her’ to boost their creative expression and nudge them to think about their environment. The teamwork of students creating the art was wonderful to witness. Each board was inspiring in its own way. Result is as follows:

SPECIAL ASSEMBLY ON VAN MAHOTSAV
“Plant a tree- Plant a life”

Van Mahotsav is an annual tree planting festival in India and is celebrated in the first week of July.To celebrate this event and to motivate the young generation towards tree plantation drive. Special combined assembly of both primary and secondary wing was conducted in APS Bathinda on 5th July 2019 by the students of class III – J and X – D,under the able guidance of their class teachers Mrs.Sonal singh and Mr.Gaurav Sharma. Special attractions of the assembly were the inspirational poem by Nishika of III – J,a short speech by Nishika of III – J and a skit by the students of class X – D. Tree plantation drive was also conducted on this occasion. Many Saplings were planted in the school by the students. All the teachers and the students participated whole heartedly in the various activities and made the day to be a memorable day of APS BTI

INSERVICE TEACHER TRAINING WORKSHOP ( 20-May 2019 to 25th May 2019)
"Anyone who stops learning is old,whether at 20 or 60"

Inservice training workshops act as a catalyst for teacher's effectiveness which further leads to be better job performance . It also helps the teachers to face new challenges and changes in this competitive world .with the same inspiration an Inservice Teacher Training Programme was conducted in school from 20 May 2019 to 25 May 2019.Programme began with the workshop conducted by the principal Mrs. Anisha Ghuman on " Cultivating A World Class Work Ethics". Various other workshops were also conducted which proved to be really fruitful .During the programme the teachers actively participated in the workshops , specially in phonetics , yoga, Art Of Living and Digicamp workshops.'The latest Learning Strategies' and 'The Importance Of Counselling in the Present Scenario' proved to be very successful workshops during the session. Workshops which included recreation and fun activities were a good break for the teachers from their humdrum routine .

FELICITATION CEREMONY FOR BOARD ACHIEVERS 2018-2019
Army Public School Bathinda has always believed in commending the student to inspire them to scale great heights. A felicitation ceremony was held ion 17 May 2019 in school's Multipurpose Hall to honor the brilliant achievers of class X , XII and of the wide spectrum of Scholastic and co-scholastic activities Maj Gen Mohan Babu,VSM congratulated the students and gave the momentos. Speaking on the occasion, Patron he urged the students to always remember the values they have ingrained at APS Bathinda.He interacted with them and asked about their future plans and explained about value of hard work in life. He blessed them for their future plans and applauded the efforts of teachers of APS Bathinda.

INTER-HOUSE FOOTBALL MATCH
“Oh’ the places you will go! There is fun to be done!
There are points to be scored. There are games to be won. And the magical things you can do with that ball will make you the winner of all”. Games are an integral part of the holistic development which directs one to be competitive while keeping the spirit of honesty and camaraderie alive. Keeping with the same inter house football matches were organized on 11, 13, 15 and 16th of May 2019. On 11th May and 13th May Qualifier matches were organized and 15th of May 2019 matches were played for 3rd and 4th Position. These matches were organized in two levels VI to VIII (Junior Boys) and IX to XII (Senior Boys). Final matches were played on 16th May 2019

INTER HOUSE POEM RECITATION COMPETITION ON 14 MAY 2019
An Inter house poetry Recitation competition was organized on 14 may 2019 at APS Bathinda. Beauty is the realm of poetry children enjoy the beauty of expression, thoughts, feelings, rhyme, rhythm and music of words. Taking all these facts into consideration the children got an opportunity to exhibit their talent and confidence children came up on stage to recite, the poems on the theme of ‘Women Empowerment’. Judges for the competition were:

SPECIAL ASSEMBLY ON MOTHER’S DAY ON 10 MAY
Class X-B and III-A of APS Bathinda conducted special assembly on Mother’s Day. The programme started with invoking the blessing of almighty, followed by thought, News and poems by the junior wing students. The highlight of the assembly was a lovely dance performance by our little ones of III-A. The beautiful acrostic poem was recited by the students. It gave us an insight into the loving feelings embedded deep inside their hearts. This was followed by a short skit on the importance of mother by the students of X-B. A special talk was given by Mrs. Seema Gupta. Students of class X-B also presented a beautiful dance. To mark the importance of the day an Inter House Group Singing Competition was organized for the students of VI to VIII. All the four songs of four houses touched the emotional chords of one and all. In this special assembly certificates of some inter-house activities were also distributed along with the certificates of Inter School competitions. Overall the assembly was presented well by the students with a beautiful message on why and how one needs to support and love one’s mother. Assembly concluded with the National Anthem.

ORIENTATION PROGRAMME
The orientation programme for the parents of class X was held on 7th may, 2019 in school’s multipurpose Hall. Many parents turned to attend the programme and they were briefed about the upcoming session. Mrs. Bhupinder Kaur , the examination in charge started the program and detailed about Examination pattern, ,new scheme of education, internal assessment along with their weightage. Various other parameters on which the child will be assessed were also explained. Finally the principal Mrs. Anisha Ghuman stressed on more parental involvement and timely feedback from the parents so that the learning process can be improved. The orientation programme concluded by queries raised by parents that were duly answered by Examination Incharge.

WORKSHOP BY IITIANS BATHINDA FOR CLASS X
Every student faces question of what next? After X. In today’s age, there are abundant career options that one can pursue. However, making a career decision is difficult. To motivate the students, in building up the desire to achieve the best potential, A workshop was conducted by IITIANS, Bathinda on 6th May to guide the students of class X about different courses and streams that are available. Students found the workshop to be really fruitful.

AN ELECTION FOR HEAD BOY AND HEAD GIRL
“Head Boy and Head Girl are roles of prominent representative student responsibilities” We are a part of a democratic country and each one has a right to vote. This thought was brought into practice at Army Public school Bathinda on 1st may, 2019. Elections for the position of Head Boy and Head girl were held within the school campus for the first time. The entire Electoral process was upheld in front of the whole school. The excitement and anxiety could be read not only among children but also teachers and Administration staff as well. In all there were 12 pupils for the post of Head Boy and 6 pupil for the post of Head Girl. An election campaign started with full enthusiasm on 18 April 2019. All the candidates delivered speeches in school’s morning assembly about why they would be best candidate for the job. All the candidates did an amazing job, using a variety of persuasive tactics in hope of being elected. On May 1, 2019 votes were cast by the students and teachers. Huge congratulations to Akshita Chhoker of class XII Science-A who was selected as Head Girl and to Divyankit of XII science-A who was selected as Head Boy of the school. Well done and good luck in new roles!

SPECIAL ASSEMBLY ON LABOUR DAY(1ST MAY 2019)
“All labour that uplifts humanity has dignity”
Labour’s Day is an International Day celebrated worldwide in different countries to commemorate the hard work and dedication of labours towards the organization irrespective of their power and position. To show gratitude towards the importance of hard work, devotion and contributions of the workers of APS Bathinda, a special assembly was conducted by the students of both primary and senior wing. The assembly started with prayer followed by special thought and news headlines. A mesmerizing poem recitation and dance presentation was given by the students of class IV-D ad X-A under the guidance of their class teacher Mrs. Anjana Talwar and Ms. Vritika. A District level competition was organised by ‘Student Olympic Association’ ,Bathinda on 28th April 2019 at St. Xavier’s World School, NFL Colony, Bathinda. Two students have participated from our school for Solo Singing and Solo dance competition. Result is as following

SPECIAL ASSEMBLY ON AWES DAY(29.4.2019)
Army welfare Education Society with the aim of “Quality education at affordable price” manages and ensures proper educational facilities to the children of Indian Army Personnel through local military authorities. Established in 1983 the society has opened over 137 Army Public Schools, 249 Pre-Primary schools and 11 professional institutions of higher education. A special Assembly on AWES day was conducted in APS Bathinda. The students from both senior and primary wing participated in the assembly. The assembly started with prayer followed by AWES song, thought, news and a short skit by the students of class IV-D and X-A under the guidance of their respective class in charges Mrs. Divya and Ms. Virtika A short speech by Ms. Viritika highlighted the aims and achievements of AWES. On this special day the Principal gave certificates and medals to the winners who won in drawing competition at Millenium school and District level solo singing and dance competition conducted at St.Xavier’s world school, NFL Bathinda. The assembly was concluded with national anthem.

An Inter-House Display Board Decoration Competition was held for the students of class VI to XII under the guidance of House In-charges. Students were given the theme.
‘World Earth Day’
The students, teachers and house In-charges worked on the theme and displayed beautiful art work. Articles and other material was chosen in sync with the given topic. All the four houses tried their best and emphasized on ‘Reuse’. The efforts being put in by the four houses were appreciable.

EARTH DAY CELEBRATION
“Save our world, save our future, Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.” A Special Assembly was conducted at Army Public School, Bathinda on the occasion of Earth Day. Assembly was conducted by the students of class XII Sci and V K under the able guidance of Mrs. Garima Sharma and Ms. Amandeep Dadyal. The Assembly started with the poem by junior wing students. Students of Class XII and V k presented a meaningful skit which demonstrated the side effects of humans trying to modify nature for their own selfish needs and the importance of keeping the environment green. The thought behind conducting this assembly was to make the children more concerned about ‘Mother Earth’

PARENT ORIENTATION PROGRAMME
“A parent is a teacher at home, a teacher is a parent in school and child is the center of our universe”. An orientation programme was organized for the parents of the students of class X on 16th and 18th April, 2019 in school ‘s Multipurpose Hall. Mrs. Anisha Ghuman, the principal of the school welcomed the parents and threw light on the concerns like punctuality, dress code, homework and attendance. Mrs. Bhupinder , the Examination In-charge explained the examination pattern , new scheme of evaluation, internal assessment and final board examination. The orientation programme concluded with queries raised by parents that were duly answered by the Examination In-charge.
SPECIAL ASSEMBLY ON BAISAKHI CELEBRATION
“Amidst the rich harvest across the greenery, Baisakhi has arrived in all its majesty.” India is land of many cultures which blend into each other seamlessly. Each region has its own way of celebrating New Year usually when the crops are harvested. In Punjab , this day is celebrated as Baisakhi. A special assembly was conducted by XII Arts on 12 April,2019 under the guidance of Mr. Rajesh. The significance of Baisakhi was highlighted through a speech delivered by master Harpuneet Singh. Students of junior wing recited a poem explaining the significance of the day. Our school has recently won 10 Corps Talent Hunt competition. Award winning performances were presented on the stage. The assembly concluded with a resplendent and energetic folk dance that made for truly spirited stage!

An Inter House board decoration competition was held for classes VI to XII in APS , Bathinda on 8 april,2019. Houses were provided with the theme of “New Beginning”. Display boards were adorned with vibrant sketches, educational messages and vivid borders, prepared by the students of four houses. Students and teachers put all their imagination into creative presentation and came up with visually attractive and informative house boards. The competition gave a tough time to the judgment team to mark the positions. The boards were appreciated by all. The result is as follows:

FIRST HOUSE MEETING
The school has divided its students into 4 houses namely Akbar, Ashoka, Pratap and Shivaji. Each student is put under a specific house, when he/she takes admission in the school. Each house is placed under a house warden and tutors. First house meeting of the school was organized on 06 April 2019. In the first house meeting students were briefed about various activities and interested students were interviewed for various posts in the Council.

To make the beginning special, class XII Science (B) conducted a welcome assembly on April 1, 2019. The aim and objective of the assembly was to welcome the students to the new session 2019-2020. Assembly was conducted by Sanyam Jakhar and Riya.Under the able guidance of Mrs. Kiran Bala. It all seemed serene as the students and teacher together prayed to God for successful year ahead .The assembly started with Gyatri Mantra followed by prayer, news, thought and Speech. An inspiring song and speech by Pranshu were presented related to the theme. The principal with her words of wisdom motivated the students to work hard and accomplish new goals. Pratham Gupta of class X E, an NCC Cadet of APS Bathinda, made the school proud by securing 2nd position in District Biodiversity Management Committee (BMC) Photography Competition 2018. STEM CHALLENGE – 2019
SDRO (Scientific Development & Research Organization) designs scientific and educational astronomy curriculum and content to improvise the level of astronomical skills in students. Stem challenge fosters curiosity, creativity and imagination in young minds and inculcate skills as designing mindset. This challenge is based on the various transportation options in the space. To showcase their innovative skills in science and technology, our school has conducted an event called ‘STEM CHALLENGE-2019’ on 16th March 2019 in the school premises. An inter house display board competition was held on 22nd Feb, 2019 in the school premises. Keeping in tune with the Annual Examinations, the topic allotted was 'Examination’. NATIONAL DEWORMING WEEK 08 FEB TO 14 FEB 2019
National Deworming Week is being observed from 08 Feb to 14 Feb 2019 by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Its main objective is to deworm the children between the ages of 1-19yrs at schools and Anganwadi centers. Students of APS Bathinda (class II-XII) were given deworming medicine to be administered at home on 14th Feb 2019 in the school premises.

Basant Panchami Celebrations 2019 (08.02.2019)
Basant Panchami, is a festival that marks the arrival of spring, celebrated by people in various ways depending on the region. Basant Panchami is also a festival dedicated to goddess Saraswati , The ancient goddess of knowledge, language, music and all arts.
Army Public School, Bathinda, celebrated Basant Panchami by organising Special assembly conducted by VI C , VI D & III B. The assembly started with an introduction about Basant Panchami followed by Saraswati pooja, thought & news. The Speech was given & poem recited by student of class III B. A skit was performed by the students of class VI C & VI D . Tiny tots came dressed in yellow attires and turbans & a colourful programme was presented by the students of senior wing & junior wing on ‘Chali – Chali re Patang & Aayi Jhum ke’ Basant songs. FAREWELL FOR CLASS XII
To bid adieu to class XII of session 2018-19. Farewell titled as ‘Arrivederci’ was organized by student of class XI on February 2, 2019 in school premises. Students of class XI enthralled their seniors and teachers with variety of cultural programmes like dance, skit, choreography, Bhangra and fun games. Bestowing compliments adoring and praising the personalities of students of class XII were also part of the programme. Master Rakesh and Miss Anshika of XII science won the titles of Master and Miss APS, Bathinda 2018-19, respectively. At the end of the programme students of class XII were given the stage to express their views and share experiences of their school life. The students were given best wishes for their Board Exams by all teachers and the Principal.

AIT NATIONAL OLYMPIAD is a National Olympiad organized by Army Institute of Technology. It is an Inter – School Science Olympiad to celebrate the spirit of healthy competition. AIT National Olympiad conducted on 05.FEB.2019 in APS, Bathinda for two categories:
Category 1 :- (CLASS - VI – VII)
Category 2 :- (CLASS – VIII – IX)
It is a national wide science Olympiad held in two stages with the first stage being offline round and selected students for each category will be participating for the second level and the final stage to be held on 17th Feb 2019. REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION (FLAG HOISTING) (26.01.2019)
Republic Day in India is celebrated every year with great pride on 26th of January to honour the Constitution of India as it came into force on the same day in the year 1950. APS Bathinda celebrated India's 70th Republic Day with great éclat. The teachers took pride in glorifying and celebrating the spirit of unity. Principal, APS Bathinda hoisted the National Flag and paid tribute to the stalwarts who played a major role in the fight for India’s freedom .Principal also laid emphasis on need of sincerity & dedication in the field of education to build the Nation The celebration came to an end by the singing of patriotic songs followed by National Anthem.

“Let us remember the golden heritage of our country and feel proud to be part of India”
Republic Day is very special Occasion for India.
A special Assembly was conducted by VI-A and IV-E on the topic “Republic Day”. The assembly started by giving an introduction about the meaning of “Republic “ and about the constitution of India. Followed by Morning Prayer and thought by Samiksha of IV-E. The children dressed up in different attires to show unity in Diversity and sang “Vande Matram” during the song the children dressed up as National leaders-Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Rani Lakshmi Bai, Bhagat Singh and Dr. B. R. Ambedkar and come on the stage. It reminded all of us about the contribution done by all freedom fighters who laid their lives for the freedom of our country. After that a poem was recited by Tanisha of IV-E. Followed by a spectacular dance performance by the representing different states, depicting their different cultures. The assembly was concluded with national anthem.

VISIT TO ROBOTICS LAB (BABA FARID COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGY)
As an initiative towards awareness & enlighnment APS Bathinda organized an educational trip to Robotics Lab at Baba Farid College of Engineering & Technology, Bathinda. The visit was scheduled on 21st &22nd Jan , 2019 for the students of class IX & XI(Science) within school hours. The aim of the visit was to acquaint the students with the basics & in-turn work on projects associated with the field. This was followed by a rendezvous to the Robotics and Artificial Intelligence by Mr. Anoop Kumar Monga. The student were enthusiastic about the Robotroys and their robotic toys, viz, quadcofters, line follower, allomatic glider, and their hand built solar car. Students learnt and were motivated to know more and pursue the robotics and its elements and to contact if they want to participate in their engineering program. It was a fun filled excursion with an intriguing insight into the wonders of mechanical Engineering for our aspiring engineers. Students indulged in activities conducted by experts to hone soft skills & personality development. Over all it was an exciting experience for students where they got an insight into the basics of robotics.

Career Orientation Workshop - Psychometric Assessment for Class IX
A career orientation workshop – Psychometric Assessment (Effort Advisor) was organized in the school for students of class IX, on 19th Jan, 2019. The aim is to help the stream. It shall be help students to ascertain the amount of effort required by them to achieve success in their preferred career stream. It will also guide the students how to choose the career which is most suited, on the basis of their personality. It will be followed with a follow up session with the students.

School Quiz League-2018, Phase-I: Classroom Round was conducted in school premises of APS Bathinda on 29th Nov, 2018 under the following categories-
Junior Category – VI to VIII
Senior Category – IX to XII
5 teams of Junior Category (10 students) & 5 teams of Senior Category (10 students) qualified for the Phase-2 : City Finale Round. 5 teams from Junior Category & 1 team from Senior Category participated in the Phase-2: City Finale Round on 17th Jan, 2019 held at Bal Bhawan Auditorium Sec-23 Chandigarh. APS Bathinda was one of the Top 6 teams in the Senior Category and one team from Junior Category secured the third position in the City Finale Round.
SPCIAL ASSEMBLY: LOHRI CELEBRATION
Lohri was celebrated at APS Bathinda with religious fervour & enthusiasm. A special assembly was organized by the students of class VII H & V I. The assembly commenced with Gayatri Mantra followed by thought and news. Students of primary wing recited a poem on Lohri and Vanshika of VII H appraised the gathering about the importance of Lohri. A colorful programme was presented by students of primary wing & senior wing where students danced to the Punjabi folk songs and Lohri songs. The teachers of Senior wing & Junior wing presented a mesmerizing performance on Folk song. The mood on the campus was upbeat and students were totally absorbed in the spirit of Lohri. INSPIRE SCIENCE CAMP
Inspire Science Camp ( Innovation in Science pursuit for Inspired Research) is a residential camp for 11-12 grades. The program is managed and sponsored by department of Science and Technology, GOI. The 4th Inspire Camp was hosted by Baba Farid College, Bathinda from 25 to 29 December 2018. The Camp includes Seminars and interactive sessions with eminent Scientist and research scholars. The objectives of the camp is to excite young talent about science by inspiring them to think differently and understanding simple logical thought process that could lead to profound discoveries. There students from Army Public School , Bathinda, participated in the camp. The camp also held a competition, where students were asked to give their innovative ideas. The students were given a set of problems areas. Two of our students got first and second positions in the competition. The organisers will send their ideas to DST, where they would be compared with ideas from other inspire camps held across the country. The winners are:

Special Assembly for Christmas Celebrations
“Christmas is not a time nor a season, but a state of mind. To cherish peace & goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas.”
Christmas commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ & is celebrated as a time to give & forgive. Students of APS Bathinda celebrated Christmas with joy & cheer on 22nd Dec 18. A special assembly was conducted by students of VII G & V E. The assembly commenced with prayer followed by thought & news. Students of class VII G recited a beautiful poem showcasing the spirit of Christmas. Carols song by the choir added festive mood to the celebration. Students of class XI & XII presented a skit reflecting the teaching of Jesus Christ & his life. Students of Primary Wing mesmerized the audience with their beautiful dance performance. At the end Santa Claus made the event lively with his presence & distributed the sweets. The Principal addressed the students laying emphasis on precious gifts of hope, place, joy & love bestowed on us by God with the birth of Jesus Christ. The assembly concluded with the National anthem.

A career counseling session was organized in the school premises for students of class XII, on 21st Dec, 2018. The session focused on various career prospects for the students after 12th. ARMY PUBLIC SCHOOL CELEBRATES ANNUAL DAY, ‘ROOHANIYAT’ WITH GUSTO
APS Bathinda celebrated its Annual Day, ‘Roohaniyat’ on 24 November 2018. GOC, HQ 10 Corps, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
The event started with ceremonial Lamp lighting by Zonal President, AWWA, Chetak Corps, followed by Saraswati Aradhna. Tiny Tots of class I, all decked up as fairies, mesmerized the audience with their exuberant, Fairy Dance. Students of Primary Wing enthralled all present, with their spectacular dance performances and vibrant and colourful, ‘Puppet Dance.’ School Principal, Mrs Anisha Ghuman, highlighted the achievements of the schoolin Academics, co-curricular and sports activities, in her Annual Report. The senior students stole the show with their perfectly synchronized Trash Band performance and foot tapping Bhangra.
The students of classes V to IX kicked it up a notch with their sublime and soulful, ‘Theme Presentation’, beautifully depicting the theme of the show and emphasizing that when a heart reverberates with unconditional, pure love and peace, it is bound to echo in another, sooner or later.
Students who brought laurels to the school, in the fields of Academics, co- curricular and sports, were awarded for their sincere efforts.
The Chief Guest, in his address, lauded the earnest and ardent efforts of the Management, Principal, Staff and Students that culminated in successful organization of the event. He congratulated the achievers and also advised and inspired the students to seek opportunities for wider education. He emphasised that the students of todayshould make the most of 'New India' that offersbetter, variedand equal opportunities to all.
The function concluded with Vote of Thanks, presented by the Head boy and rendition of National Anthem.

ANTI DRUG ABUSE 1 OCT 2018
Under the responsibility of Social Service Activities Action Plan-2018-19, an awareness rally was organized by the NCC cadets of APS, Bathinda in the residential areas of the Military Stn. on 1st Dec, 2018 on “Anti Drug Abuse”. The cadets sensitized the families about the significance of ‘Anti Drug’ through slogans, Campaigns, speech & Nukkad Natak. The core objective of the rally was to generate mass involvement against Drug Abuse. 39 Cadets, 01 CTO and 03 other staff members of the school was present during the rally.

The Quiz Program designed under school Quiz League -2018,Prathibha Ki Khoj, season 6 aims to test the general Awareness Quotient of the school students by giving them national platform to compete with the best and brightest. Phase-1:Classroom Round was conducted in school premises on 29th Nov,2018 under two categories.

NCC DAY CELEBRATION (21 NOV TO 25 NOV 2018)
On the occasion of NCC Day Celebration, under the able guidance of Principal APS Bathinda, the Cadets of Army Public School Bathinda performed the poster making activity on the theme "Anti Drug Abuse", "Prevention of Stubble Burning", "Blood Donation". Cadets also delivered the speeches on the above said themes. A presentation was delivered by Mr. Dimple Batta NCC CTO of this institute on the topic "Anti Drug Abuse". Total 57 Cadets and 01 PI Staff, Hav Nattu Singh was also present during the above said celebrations.

SPECIAL ASSEMBLY ON DIWALI
“From darkness to the light that empower us to commit ourselves to good deeds , that which brings us closer to divinity; lights illuminate every corner of India during Diwali.”
A special assembly was conducted on 5th Nov, 2018 in the school premises by class (VII A & III J) on the topic of the festival of lights-Diwali. The objective of the assembly was to make the students aware of this festival- why and how it is celebrated. The assembly commenced with prayer followed by thought, talk, poem, play , dance performance & musical performance by the choir.
Students of class VII-A talked about the significance of the festival-how good always conquers the evil and the enthusiasm with which Diwali is celebrated across India and The World. An inspiring poem was recited by student of class III-J through a play about the dire consequences of adding to the pollution of the environment by bursting crackers and it was brilliantly staged as well. A captive dance performance by students of class VII-A on the beats on “Deepawali Aayi Re” was the bonus bonanza of the day. The assembly concluded with National Anthem.

Many festivals have religious origins and entwine cultural and religious significance in traditional activities. To promote this idea an Inter House Display Board Competition was held on 01st Nov 2018 in the School Premises based on the theme ‘DIWALI’. The arts don’t just develop a child’s creativity—the skills they learn because of them spill over into academic achievements as well. The participants of all the four houses displayed their aesthetic skills & decorated the boards with innovation. Beautifully they showcased the spirit of festivals of light through their imagination & creativity. The results of the board decoration are as follows:

INTER HOUSE FOLK DANCE COMPETITION
“We may have different religions, different languages, different coloured skin, but we all belong to one human race.”
Unity in diversity is a slogan which seeks to celebrate how a nation can be stronger by welcoming different cultural, social and ethnic elements. Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat” was announced by hon’ble Prime Minister on 31st October, 2015 on the occasion of the 140th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. All States and UT’s were covered under programme. This pairing of States/UT’s was done at national level. The State/UT level pairings were utilized for state level activities. To celebrate the idea, an Inter House Folk Dance Competition was organized in school premises on 26th oct 2018. The aim was to showcase the rich heritage and culture , customs and traditions of either State for enabling students to understand and appreciate the diversity that is india, thus fostering a sense of commom identity.Each house was allotted one state for representation of their folk dance, which is as follows:

SXMUN’18 ON 20TH -22ND OCTOBER 2018
Army Public School Bathinda had the most impressing opportunity to delve into UN’s affairs via the efforts made by St. Xaviers School Bathinda to bring in over 300 delegates from more than 15 schools to have a chance to participate in this global event. The Team of the 16 students from APS along with Ms.Viritika and Mrs. Sumeet Kaur learnt a great deal from this debate manoeuver and managed to bring in 5 Awards and one Verbal Recognition. CAREER ORIENTATION WORKSHOP :20TH OCT,2018

Representatives of Chandigarh University Career Counseling cell were invited to guide students of class XI and XII(all streams) to create a practical roadmap of all career options available after class XII( Med, Non-Med, Humanities and Commerce) wide spectrum of programs in Engineering , Management, Architecture, Computing, Tourism and Hospitality, Biotechnology, Pharm Sciences etc. were discussed. The focus of our counseling session was to give information about career possibilities after XII.

WORKSHOP ON PERSONAL HYGIENE & SANITATION

Two days workshop on personal hygiene & Sanitation was conducted in school premises on 16th Oct 18 & 17th Oct 18 for the girls of class VI to XII. The aim of the workshop was to educate girls on personal hygiene & good practices to be followed in daily routine to avoid the possibilities of infections & disease. The focus was on regular routine of personal care, washing & grooming. The workshop was also presided over by The Principal. Mrs. Subira Jakhar was the special attendee for the workshop. She interacted with the girls and shared her views and advised them on the same.

SWC INTER APS QUIZ COMPETITION
SWC Inter APS Quiz competition was held on 25th September 2018 at APS Jaipur. 17 schools of south western command participated in the same. The team of APS Bathinda secured the first position. Chaitanya veenu (X-C), Simar Mann(X –A) & Akshat Ashish (X-B) represented APS Bathinda under the able guidance of Ms. Nisha Walia & Mr. Rajesh. The team will now represent the school at National Level.

BOOK FAIR(2018-19): 8TH OCT -12TH OCT
“A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge”
To enhance the literary skills of the students and to imbibe in them good reading habits, a Book Fair is being organized by Scholastic India Pvt. Ltd in school premises from 8th Oct,18 to 12th Oct, 18. The event was graced and inaugurated by the Chairman of APS Bathinda. Principal and Junior Wing coordinator were also present during the inauguration. A wide range of books from all discipline of education are display. Students will visit the book fair at regular intervals as per the schedule and get a border vision & an opportunity to enjoy the company of books.

SELF DEFENCE CLASSES FOR GIRLS
Self Defence classes for girls (V to VIII) was organized in APS Bathinda during Autumn break from 1st Oct to 6th Oct 2018. Mr. S P Shukla, NIS, International Referee & other resource persons of his team guided the students about different techniques & tactics of self defence. The team laid emphasis on higher self-confidence, flexibility & dexterity and cognitive awareness. Students were told to work on their physical & mental strength.

SWACCHTA KI ORE EK KADAM

On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, under the able guidance 20 Pb Bn NCC Bathinda, different schools and colleges of Bathinda with NCC, participated in, ‘Swacchta Hi Sewa’. The Cadets of Army Public School Bathinda also participated in the same. An awareness rally was organized by the group of NCC cadets from Bathinda. Activities were organized in the Multi Purpose Stadium, Bathinda & Bathinda city on 2nd Oct, 2018 on the topic “Swacchta Ki Ore Ek Kadam”. The cadets sensitized the public about the significance of ‘Clean India, Green India’ through slogans, Nukkar Natak & by the speeches. The core objective of the rally was to generate mass involvement in Swachh Bharat Mission and related issues.

Under the Swacchta Activities Action Plan-2018, an awareness rally was organized by the NCC cadets of APS, Bathinda in the residential areas of the Military Stn. on 1st Oct, 2018 on “Construction Of Compost Pits”. The cadets sensitized the families about the significance of ‘Clean India, Green India’ through slogans, Campaigns, personal interactions & distribution of leaflets. The core objective of the rally was to generate mass involvement in Swachh Bharat Mission and related issues.

CYBER SECURITY WORKSHOP

A cyber security workshop was held in the school premises on 25th Sept, 2018.The Aim of the workshop was to acquaint teachers about the cyber-attacks (Trojan horse, Spyware, Web Based Attacks) and measures to avert the same. Highlights of the session were how to access the secure Web Browsers, save executable files, identify authentic or encrypted mails. The session also focused on ways & means to secure personal systems. Overall it was a highly informative workshop.

INTERACTION WITH THE CHAIRMAN
14th sept, 2018 witnessed a special occasion in the events of APS Bathinda as the new chairman of APS Bathinda interacted with the teachers of the Senior Wing. The chairman enlightened the teachers with his views on education, child’s all round development & role of teacher in an individual’s life. He also laid emphasis on academics as well as co-curricular activities as the prime areas to be focused. It was a wonderful experience for the teachers to interact with the chairman & to gain an insight into the innovational ways & efforts for the functioning of the school towards the brighter future of students.

PETROLEUM CONSERVTION RESEARCH ASSOCIATION (PCRA) EASSY WRITING AND PAINTING COMPETITION (2018)
As a part of mandate of PCRA, under the aegis of Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas , Govt of India, various literary & cultural events are conducted for school students to make oil conservation a National Movement with the mission efficient energy utilization and environment protection leading to improvement in quality of life. Painting Competition & Essay writing competition in (Hindi, English ,Punjabi ) was organized on 12 sep 2018 in the school to raise awareness among them about Petroleum Conservation & Environment protection. Students of class VIII – class X participated with enthusiasm and displayed their creativity through the art and presented their thoughts through essays.

TEACHER’S DAY CELEBRATION
A Good Teacher Can Inspire Hope, Ignite the Imagination, and Instill A Love Of Learning.
5th Sept, 2018 was an auspicious day for the students of APS Bathinda, to celebrate the Teacher’s Day which marks the birth anniversary of the great teacher Dr. Radhakrishnan. The day is dedicated to commemorate the work of this great academic philosopher, one of the best known diplomat, scholar & above all a teacher.
A special assembly was conducted by the students of senior wing to celebrate Teacher’s Day with zeal and zest in the school premises. Students of IX, XI & XII organized a colourful program to express their gratitude for their teachers. The assembly commenced with GURU VANDANA followed by thought. A student of XII Science recited a beautiful poem highlighting the importance of Teachers. Students of IX, XII Commerce & XI Arts presented a beautiful performance through contemporary dance & folk dance. XI Science & XII Arts students enacted various comical characters & importance of teachers through various skits. Students of IX & XI Science mesmerized the audience with their musical band programme. Students of XII expressed their gratitude by presenting cards to the teachers as a token of respect. Students also organized various fun games for the teachers. The programme concluded with Principal address with word of appreciation & importance of teachers in ours life. The management also organized a small programme for the teachers to appreciate their hardwork & presented token of respect for their sincere dedication & efforts.

SWACHHTA ACTIVITY 2018
In view of the Prime minister Shri Narendra Modi’s clarion call to achieve a New India by 2022 under “Swachh Sankslp Se Swachh Siddhi”, concerted efforts was put up by Army Public School, Bathinda under the Social Service & Community Development Action Plan-2018. An awareness rally was organized by the NCC cadets of APS , Bathinda in the residential areas of the Military Cantt on 6th Sep,2018.The cadets sensitized the families about the significance of Clean India Green India through slogans, door to door campaigns, personal interactions & distribution of leaflets. The core objectives of the rally were to generate mass involvement in Swachh Bhart Mission and related issues.
Farewell To The Chairman
To bid adieu to chairman, APS Bathinda, a farewell party was organized by APS Bathinda fraternity. The welcome address was given by Ms. Inderjeet (PRT) which was followed by felicitation of subject teachers of class XII for securing first position in South Western Command for CBSE XII Board results for session 2017-18. Further a small token of love and a collection of photographs of fond memories of the tenure of the Chairman Sir was presented to him.
Chairman, APS Bathinda also expressed his feeling as being the chairman of the institute and thanked one and all for their efforts. Ms Renu Arya (PGT HINDI) expressed her gratitude towards the Chairman and highlighted the achievements of the School in his tenure.
The farewell ended on a musical note by a medley of Hindi songs presented by Mr. Tejpal

Special Assembly On Janamashtami

On the occasion of Janamashtami, a festival which commemorates the earthly arrival of Lord Krishna, a special assembly was organized in the school by the students of class IX-G on 1st 2018.The assembly began with a prayer followed by thought & news by the students. The highlights of the assembly were the speech & a Dance performance by the students of IX-G celebrating the goodwill, togetherness and joy inspired by Lord Krishna.

INTER HOUSE BASKET BALL COMPETITION
Sports are the way to big achievements in children’s life .Variety of sports activities bring a lot of positive opportunities for them. Participating in the sports activities enhances children’s school accomplishments. Keeping this in mind, an Inter House Basketball Competition was held for Senior Boys (Class IX to XII) from 23rd August 2018 and 28 August 2018. Initially Knock out matches were held and then the finals. Knock out Matches were conducted on 23rd August 2018.

Special Assembly on Save Trees & Save Water

A clean and healthy environment is part and parcel of the wealth and quality of life. As human beings we have the responsibility to preserve the actual value of nature both for ourselves and for future generations. Keeping this in mind , a special assembly was organized on 25th August on ‘SAVE TREES &SAVE WATER’ by NCC cadets in the premises .It began with a prayer followed by a poem &speech focusing on the topic of the day. The students took a pledge to be defenders and friends of the Environment. A skit was demonstrated very enthusiastically on importance of trees by the NCC Cadets. Saplings were planted in the school by NCC Cadets at the end of the assembly.

Let’s salute the nation on this auspicious day. Independence Day i.e. 15th august was celebrated with great enthusiasm in the school premises from 8 00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. The Chief Guest was chairman APS Bathinda & Mrs. Vandana Dogra, SO to Chairman & Principal presided over the function. The programme began with Gayatri Mantra, followed by prayer & thought. The Chief Guest hoisted the tri colour flag & all in unison sang the National Anthem & expressed the joy of freedom. Students of Jr. Wing and Sr. wing presented a colourful programme with patriotic dances & songs. Students rekindled the spirit of patriotism through poem & speech. The chief guest addressed the gathering emphasizing the true meaning of freedom & necessity to inculcate it within us. The programme concluded with the vote of thanks by the Head Boy.

Psych-Ed: National Psychology Quiz
The Department of Mental Health and Behavioral Science, Fortis Healthcare , recently organized an online quiz on psych-Ed(National Psychology Quiz) dated on 7th August 2018(Tuesday) in school premises. The students who actively participated in this quiz are named as Rebecca (XI comm), Adaya(XI comm) and Kartik (IX-B). The sole purpose of this quiz is to make mental health a priority and to create interest of young ones in the field of psychology.

BVC MUN 2018
Students of Army Public School, Bathinda got the much desired exposure and an experience and memories to cherish forever, as they participated in the prestigious BVC MUN 2018. Bhavan Vidyalaya, Chandigarh has been organizing Model United Nations (MUN), since 2010 and provides a huge platform to national as well as International Schools to hone their debating skills on the issues of international relevance. It’s theme for 2018 was “From Faith Comes strength.” Four students of APS Bathinda, Ananya Sharma (Class- IX), Madhav Arora, Sanjana Tiwari and Srishti Tiwari of class X, were among the participants of 55 National and International Schools. The three day conference started on 3 Aug 2018 and concluded on 5 Aug 2018. It was great learning experience for the students.

An inter house display board decoration competition was held on 6th Aug 2018 in school premises. Keeping in tune with the Independence Day Celebrations, the theme allotted was, “Independence Day”. All the four houses displayed their talent & decorated the board aesthetically with their creative skills. The students of each house worked with great enthusiasm & coordination. INTER SCHOOL POSTER MAKING COMPETITION- Sr. WING
An Inter-School Poster Making Competition was held on 01st Aug, 2018 in Mount Litera Zee School, Bathinda . In which 15 schools participated from Bathinda , 60 students participated from those schools. Students of APS Bathinda actively participated in the competition under two categories based on the theme “Real Freedom”.

INVESTITURE CEREMONY 2018-19 - Sr. WING
It's not the title but the actions,
It's not about the role, it's always the goal.
The school held the Investiture Ceremony, 2018-19 on 24th July with great enthusiasm. The Investiture Ceremony marked a significant beginning of the new academic year. It was a solemn occasion where the young students were all prepared to don the mantle of leadership & discharge the responsibilities entrusted upon them by the school. The event began at 7:30 am. The ceremony was presided over by the Principal. The staff & students attended the ceremony. Piping ceremony was followed by the oath administration to the new Students Council by the School Head Boy. The ceremony was concluded with the National Anthem.

MOTIVATIONAL TALK ON PROSPECTS OF JOINING INDIAN ARMY
A motivational talk by Resource person from Army was organized on 10th July, 2018 in the School premises for class XI students. The aim of the session was to motivate the students & acquaint them with career prospects in the Indian Army. The Role & organization of Indian Army, Pre Commissioned Training Academics, Awards & Honours, Emoluments, Entry Schemes, Professional Institutes for Higher Education were highlighted during the session.
Students of XI Science (A & B)-60 & Students of XI Arts(34) & Students of XI Commerce(24) along with their class teachers & subject teachers attended the session.

An Inter House Banner Making Activity was held on 7th July, 2018 in school premises. The theme of the Activity was to incorporate the spirit & essence of the House in the Banner. TREE PLANTATION
A special tree plantation drive was carried out on 4th July, 2018 in the school premises to mark the celebration of Van Mahotsav as well as a part of social service & community development. The NCC students showed great enthusiasm and actively participated in the drive & planted saplings. The aim was to create social awareness about the importance of tree plantation & connect students to the benefit of trees and foster environmental stewardship.

IN SERVICE TEACHER’S TRAINING WORKSHOP
An In service Teacher’s Training Workshop was held in APS Bathinda. The workshop was scheduled from 21st May,18 – 25th May,18. The workshop was conducted in two sessions per day. The workshop aimed for the manpower development of the school system & educational enterprise as a whole. Highlights of the workshop were seminars, activities, interactions on various aspects such as Discovering One’s potential as a teacher, Creating Stimulating yet enjoyable environment in the class room, language Development, Making Maths a pleasure to teach & exciting to learn, The Art of Communication, Discipline in the Classroom, Role of Recreation (Yoga & Music)etc. The objective of the workshop was to upgrade the professional knowledge, skills & competencies in the teaching profession thereby enhancing the work performance & motivation of teachers in the field.

आर्मी पब्लिक स्कूल , बठिंडा छावनी के प्रांगण में 19 मई 2018 को आठवीं कक्षा के छात्रों के लिए अंतर सदन हिंदी आशु भाषण प्रतियोगिता का आयोजन किया गया I जिसमें विद्यालय के समस्त सदनों के प्रतिभागियों ने बढ़ - चढ़कर भाग लिया I प्रतिभागियों द्वारा भिन्न - भिन्न - भिन्न प्रासंगिक विषयों पर विचारों को प्रस्तुत किया गया जैसे : महिला के विरुद्ध , पेड़ – पौधों का महत्व , युवा – पीढ़ी में असंतोष , राष्ट्रीय एकता : आज की माँग , आधुनिक संचार क्रांति , पाश्चात्य संस्कृति व भारतीय संस्कृति में तुलना , समाज और मीडिया , भूकंप : एक प्राकृतिक आपदा I प्रतिभागियों ने आत्मविश्वासपूर्ण और उत्साह के साथ अपनी प्रतिभा का प्रदर्शन दिया I प्रतिभा का परिणाम इस प्रकार है : प्रथम - शिवांगी सिंह - प्रताप सदन द्वितय - दीपांशु धामी - शिवाजी सदन तृतीय - अंशु यादव - अकबर सदन समग्र सदन परिणाम : प्रथम - प्रताप सदन द्वितय - अकबर सदन तृतीय - शिवाजी सदन

TRASH BAND PERFORMANCE
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, students of class VI to IX came together to give a beautiful performance on 18th May, 2018 in the form of Trash Band. The students played music with instruments made out of trash proving that there is music inside of trash. They transformed everyday objects such as utensils, glass, box, pots, sheets, sticks etc into musical instruments. It was a mesmerizing performance which conveyed the message that music & innovation go hand in hand.

SPECIAL ASSEMBLY ON 'END PLASTIC POLLUTION'
To build awareness among the students & teachers about the environmental hazard posed by the plastics, a special assembly was conducted by students of class X A on 14th May on theme, 'End Plastic Pollution'. Assembly commenced with the Gayatri Mantra, followed by morning prayer, thought & news. A special pledge laying emphasis on leading a plastic free life was taken by all students of APS Bathinda. Students of class X A also delivered a speech on harmful effects of plastic leading to degradation of environment & how to minimize its' use. Students also came forward with a 'Nukkad Natak' & highlighted the problems posed by the use of Plastics through their mesmerising performance. They conveyed the message that Plastic Free Earth is the need of the hour & we all have to contribute immensely to End Plastic Pollution.

SPECIAL ASSEMBLY ON MOTHER'S DAY
Morning assembly on Mother's day was conducted by X-D. A motivating talk was delivered on motherhood, maternal bonds and the influence of mothers in the society. A beautiful skit was enacted by the students to show their appreciation towards mothers.

SPECIAL ASSEMBLY ON AWES RAISING DAY
A special assembly was conducted on 28th April, 2018 by students of XB to celebrate AWES Raising Day with patriotic fervor and gaiety. The assembly commenced with Gayatri Mantra followed AWES Song & thought. Aranima of XB shed light on the institutions of AWES & Education Scholarships for Army Personnel (ESSA) through her speech. Students enacted a skit about the need, importance & establishment of Army Welfare Education Society. Saakshi highlighted the role of school & education in an individual's life by reciting poem. The assembly concluded with the National Anthem.

Inter house kho-kho matches were held for Junior Boys & Junior Girls (Class VI to VIII) between 23rd April, 2018 and 26 April, 2018. Initially Knockout matches were held and then the finals. The results of the finals are as follows:-

CAREER COUNSELLING SESSION 'CLAT' (COMMON LAW ADMISSION TEST)
An informative and interesting counselling session on 'CLAT' i.e, Common Law Admission Test was conducted by Ms. Noopur Mittal & Mr. Gautam Goyal on 21. April 2018 for students of class X & XII. The students were apprised about career opportunities in the ever evolving field of Law. They were informed in detail about the 19 National Law Universities in India and detailed structure of the CLAT. Mr. Gautam Goyal answered the queries of the students and the session proved to be a fruitful one as it enlightened the students about the various career opportunities in the field of law and guided them on how to prepare themselves for CLAT and various other entrance examination

A special assembly on World Earth Day was conducted in school premises on 18th Apr, 2018 by students of XII Commerce. The assembly commenced with a prayer followed by thought, News & pledge. Students of XII Commerce beautifully conveyed the message of need & importance to save Earth through a skit. The students laid emphasis to faster environmental stewardship.

The festival of Baisakhi was celebrated on 13th April, 2018 with zest and zeal on the campus of APS Bathinda. A special assembly was organized by the students of XII Arts & VI-H. Assembly commenced with prayer followed by thought and news. Mrs. Harpreet Kaur enlightened the students about the religious, historical & economical value of Baisakhi. Folk songs sung by Mrs. Nisha Walia & Mr. Tejpal Singh added more fervour to the celebrations. Students of class VI-H depicted the cultural heritage of Baisakhi through a skit. There was great enthusiasm among the students when they performed the bhangra. Teachers added more gaiety & fun to the celebrations when they too joined the students in celebrations. The motive behind the celebrations was to apprise students of their rich culture & heritage through festivals.

A special assembly was conducted by the students of class XII Arts on the occasion of World Heritage Day, so that students gain insight about the rich heritage of their country & world. The assembly began with a prayer followed by thought and news. Students expressed their views on the importance of World Heritage Day. A skit was also performed to convey the message of putting in efforts to preserve our historical relics & monuments.

MOTIVATIONAL TALK ON PROSPECTS OF JOINING INDIAN ARMY
A motivational talk by Resource person from Army was organized on 10th April, 2018 in the school premises for class XII students. The aim of the session was to motivate the children and acquaint them with career prospects in the Indian Army. The Role of Organization of Indian Army, Pre Commissioning Training Academics, Awards & Honours, Emoluments, Entry Schemes & Professional Institutes for Higher Education were highlighted during the session.

SPECIAL ASSEMBLY ON THE FIRST DAY OF NEW SESSION 2018-19
A special assembly organized by the students of class XII Science marked the beginning of the new Academic session 2018-19, on April 03, 2018. The assembly commenced with Gayatri Mantra followed by the morning prayer and a motivational thought by Jadhav Smita Hanmant. An inspiring poem was recited by Sujitha, reminding the students to make the best of life and live it meaningfully. School Principal, Ms. Anisha Ghuman addressed the students and encouraged them to study sincerely and perform to the best of their abilities. The assembly, hosted by Anshika and Kannan Rohan, was concluded with the National Anthem.

A career counselling session was organized in the school premises for students of class X & their parents by FUEL (Friends Union For Energising Lives). The session focused on various career prospects for the students based on their aptitude, interest, soft skills etc. The counsellors guided the students about different streams available and building successful career.

INTERACTIVE SESSION ON AUTISM
An interactive session on Autism was conducted for the teachers of APS Bathinda on 8th March, 18 by an Army Resource person. The interaction was very fruitful as it gave an insight to the different perspectives about children with special needs. The highlights of the session were Inclusive Schooling advocated by CBSE, Management Problems, Benefits of Inclusive Schooling, Making Classroom Inclusive, interesting & stimulating. It also focused on Army Initiative towards Autism. The session was highly informative thereby leading to more awareness about Autism.
VIDEO CONFERENCE FOR CLASS X
A video conference was held in APS Bathinda on 5th Feb,2018 for class X, where 50 students participated. APS Bangalore was instrumental in the Video Conferencing as equivalent students of class X of APS Bangalore took active participation in the discussion. The topic for discussion was Board Exams & perspectives related to it. Students of both the schools shared their views regarding the role of parents, teachers, peer pressure & stress related to it. Students were quite vocal about the study habits, time management reference books to be consulted & Sample papers to be practiced. Students were keen to know how to improve the concentration & how to take exams as an opportunity of self-growth. A very fruitful interaction between the students.
