CHILDREN DAY CELEBRATION

''Every child is a different kind of flower and all together makes this world a beautiful garden".

November 14 is celebrated as children's day or Bal Diwas every year in India. The special day is celebrated in remembrance of India's first Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru, born on 14th Nov 1889, he was also known as Pandit Nehru. He was fondly called Chacha Nehru, and was popular amongst children for his love. November 14 marks Nehru's devotion to wellfare, education and development of children and young people. Army Public School Bathinda celebrated children's day to make this event memorable for our little ones in the school premises. The day, commemorated with immense joy, enthusiasm and magnificence. The celebration began with the welcome song followed by various games involving children and dance performances by teachers. The Principal encouraged the gathering and motivated all the students to be more focused. The students were overwhelmed and enjoyed the day to their fullest.

DIWALI CELEBRATION

May the festival of lights be the harbinger of joy and prosperity.

Diwali is the festival that spiritually signifies the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, good over evil, and hope over despair. Students of Army Public School Bathinda participated in different activities organised on the occasion of Diwali under the theme ‘Eco Friendly Diwali’. Tiny tots of APS Bathinda participated in poster making and Diya or candle decoration activity whereas the students of primary wing made the Door Bandanwar. Students of the Senior wing participated enthusiastically in the Inter House Rangoli Competition. Glimpses of all the activities are shared in the video. NATIONAL UNITY DAY

*‘’Where there is unity Victory is always there’’*

India is a unique nation, whose fabric has been woven by diverse linguistic, cultural and religious threads, held together into a composite national identity by a rich history of cultural evolution, coupled with a rousing freedom struggle that was built around the tenets of non-violence and justice. The idea of a sustained and structured cultural connect between people of different regions was mooted by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi during the Rashtriya Ekta Divas held on 31st October 2014, to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Army Public School, Bathinda shared video to inculcate the value of ‘Unity in Diversity’ that ought to be celebrated through mutual interaction & reciprocity between people of different States and UTs so that a common spirit of understanding resonates throughout the country. APS Bathinda organised Pledge Ceremony for Classes I to XII and slogan writing activity was conducted for Classes II & IV.

VIGILANCE AWARENESS WEEK - 2021

Vigilance Awareness Week 2021 was observed from 26 Oct to 01 Nov 2021 in Army Public School, Bathinda with the theme “Independent India @75: Self Reliance with Integrity”. The observance of the week commenced with the Integrity Pledge by teachers of APS Bathinda. Poster Making Activity was conducted for the students as the part of Vigilance Awareness Week 2021. Students of class XI participated in this activity.

''Unity in Diversity is our Cultural Heritage'''

India is the most diverse country in the entire world. However, unity among the citizens is a unique feature of our country. In a view to strengthen this unity, the Prime Minister of India, Mr Narendra Modi launched a nationwide programme called the “Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat” programme on 31st October 2015. Army Public School Bathinda organised fancy dress competition and dance competition for students to strengthen and maintain the existing bonds among the people of the different states of India through various cultural dance forms.

Around 75 years ago, on the historic date of 15th August 1947, India became free from British domination.. This independence was achieved through various freedom fighters' hard work, sacrifice, and pain had led to our freedom. Various fighters fought endlessly to free us from slavery and protect our motherland. APS Bathinda is sharing a video to inculcate the power of team work, sacrifice self, patriotism and integrity among the students.

We are blessed to be born in a country of real heroes who are always there to protect us and keep us safe.
Every year, India celebrates the Indian Air Force Day on 8 October to extend the country’s appreciation and gratitude to the Indian Air Force.
In addition to defending India’s air space, Indian Air Force also participates in disaster management programs and humanitarian missions.
Let us celebrate the Indian Air Force Day by thanking all the soldiers for being a part of courageous and inspirational force.We feel proud to have you as our saviors of the air wishing you all a very Happy Indian Air Force Day.

INVESTITURE CEREMONY

In order to scale the heights and reach the Pinnacle of success, Army Public School, Bathinda, always strives to inculcate a sense of responsibility and commitment among the students with their heads held high, ready to shoulder responsibilities as leaders. An investiture ceremony was organized on September 20, 2021. A spirit of unity and dynamism filled the air as the Grand Ceremony commenced with the School Prayer. The newly selected student council members pledged to work earnestly and uphold the honour and glory of the institution while receiving their prestigious badges from honourable Principal Ma’am. The Head Boy, Head Girl, Vice Head Boy, Vice Head Girl, Sports Captains, Vice Sports Captains, Discipline Incharges, House Captains, Vice House Captains and House Prefects stood tall while holding the AWES flag and the flags of their respective houses. It was a proud moment for the staff and students present in the assembly to witness the children being invested with great responsibilities while embarking on a new journey as leaders. With the flags held high and heads standing tall, the ceremony concluded with the National Anthem.

HINDI DIWAS CELEBRATION ON 14 SEPT 2021

14 सितंबर के इस पुनीत हिंदी दिवस समारोह को आज की प्रार्थना सभा में मुख्याध्यापिका श्रीमति सुखदीप कौर जी की उपस्थिति में अत्यंत हर्षोल्लास से मनाया गया । प्रार्थना सभा की शुरुआत ईश्वर वंदना से की गई । इसके उपरांत विद्यालय के छात्रों के द्वारा समूहगीत प्रस्तुत किया गया । छात्रा एनम ने अपने विचारों के द्वारा हिंदी भाषा के महत्तव को प्रकट किया । स्कूल के शिक्षकों के द्वारा भी कविता व समूहगान प्रस्तुत किया गया । वरिष्ठ अध्यापिका श्रीमति रेणु आर्य जी ने अपने विचारों द्वारा सभी का मार्गदर्शन किया ।

भारत में हर साल 14 सितंबर को राजभाषा के प्रचार और प्रसार के लिए हिंदी दिवस मनाया जाता है। हिंदी दिवस के महत्व को चिह्नित करने के लिए, आर्मी पब्लिक स्कूल, बठिंडा में 10 सितंबर 2021 को कक्षा VIII के छात्रों लिए एक *नारा लेखन गतिविधि *का आयोजन किया गया । गतिविधि का उद्देश्य हिंदी दिवस के महत्व पर ज्ञान देना तथा हिंदी भाषा के प्रति प्रेम पैदा करना था।

TEACHERS' DAY CELEBRATION

"A teacher’s purpose is not to create students in his own image, But to develop students who can create their own image"

Teachers’ Day was celebrated in Army Public School to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan – First Vice President of India and the Second President of India. Our diligent members of the student council did a commendable job in organizing Teachers’ Day celebration in school. The event initiated with an inspirational quote along with a welcome speech by Hasan Faraz, Head Boy APS Bathinda. Students extended their sincere gratitude to the worthy teachers for being the guiding force and giving the best to the children of APS. Students mesmerized the audience with a melodious song, amazing Kalbelia and fusion dance. Fun filled and interesting games were also organized by the students for the teachers. The function concluded with energetic Bhangra performance. All the teachers were extremely glad to receive the token of love from their dear students and thoroughly enjoyed the entire event organized by the students. On this day, 16 teachers were felicitated with the appreciation certificates for their sincere efforts and dedication towards their duty. Teachers' Day is celebrated in India on the 5th of September every year. It is celebrated to mark the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who was the second President of India and a great scholar. Teachers' Day is an important occasion for all the educational institutions and honours the hard work and teachings of all the respected teachers. To mark the significance of Teachers' Day, Army Public School, Bathinda organised a Poem Writing activity on 3 September 2021 for class IX. Students expressed their gratitude and respect to their teachers through self composed poems in Hindi.

NATIONAL SPORTS DAY CELEBRATION ON 29 AUGUST 2021
“The more difficult the victory, the greater the happiness in winning.”
Sports and games are an integral part of our life and have become a way of life for a healthy and fit India. Sports play a pivotal role in the makeup of a young athlete. National Sports Day is celebrated on 29th of August every year. It marks the birth anniversary of Hockey Legend, Major Dhyan Chand, who is regarded as the greatest Hockey player of all times. To mark the significance of National Sports Day, Army Public School, Bathinda organised a collage making activity on ‘cultural games’ on 28 August. The aim of the activity was to develop the students understanding of how children’s games and their variations have been passed on through generations and around the world.

INTER-SCHOOL DEBATE AND DECLAMATION CONTEST 2021

Inter-School Debate and Declamation contest was oragnised by Delhi Public School Bathinda on 26 August 2021 with the aim to provide the students a chance to articulate their thoughts in a critical manner. The contest was held online on Zoom app. The topic of the debate was ‘Artifical Intelligence is Dangerous’. Total 9 teams participated in the contest. Three students, Manya of Class VIII, Yashasvini Girdhar of Class VIII and Ayaan Singhal of Class V from APS Bathinda, took part in the competition. It is a moment of immense pride for APS Bathinda to share that all our participants bagged various prizes and brought laurels to our school. SOUTH WESTERN COMMAND INTER APS DEBATE COMPETITION- 2021

South Western Command Inter Aps Hindi and English Debate Competition- 2021 was organised by APS Jaipur on 24 August 2021 and 25 August 2021 respectively. The competition was held online on Google Meet. Total 13 teams under south western command participated in the contest. TREE PLANTATION DRIVE
“Plant a Tree, Plant a hope for future”


Nature is God’s most beautiful creation. It felicitates the growth, development and nourishment of all creatures. On the auspicious occasion of 75th Independence day, Army Public School Bathinda had a tree plantation drive in the school campus on 15 August 2021. Sandeep Simran Sahoo of class XII Sci and Rashmit of Class X D, shining stars of CBSE Board Results 2020-21, accompanied by their parents and the staff members planted saplings in the school garden. The main aim of the campaign was to direct student’s mind in constructive activities with the positive outcome.

RAKHI MAKING COMPETITION

Raksha Bandhan symbolises the true love and bond between brothers and sisters. Rakhi has deep significance and it has been used for the protection of the person who ties it on his hand from mythological times. To mark the importance and significance of the festival ‘Rakhi Making Competition’ was organized for students of class VI in Army Public School, Bathinda on 22 August 2021. The students enthusiastically participated this activity. Kargil Vijay Diwas is observed on 26 July to commemorate the victory of the Indian soldiers over the infiltrating Pakistani troops. On the 22nd anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas, let’s remember the bravery of our soldiers who sacrificed their life. A solemn ceremony was organised as a part of `Kargil Vijay Diwas 2021` celebration in Army Public School, Bathinda Military Station.

JOINING AND WELCOME CEREMONY OF THE NEW PRINCIPAL ON 05.07.2021
It is a matter of great pleasure and honour for Army Public School Bathinda Military station to whole heartedly welcome Ms Sukhdeep Kaur as the new Principal. She has immense leadership qualities, and determinism. A welcome ceremony was held on 5th of July 2021. Keeping in view the COVID protocol, the senior staff presented a bouquet to the new principal. A welcome song was played and a beautiful card was presented with greetings on her new joining. A staff meeting was held in the assembly ground where Ms. Sukhdeep Kaur addressed the staff members and motivated them. With her energy, enthusiasm and vision APS Bathinda hopes to achieve greater levels of excellence.

POEM RECITATION COMPETITION ON 26.06.2021
Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan or Self-reliant India campaign is the vision of new India envisaged by the Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The aim is to make the country and its citizens independent and self-reliant in all senses. India has demonstrated how it rises up to challenges and uncovers opportunities therein. So, to spread awareness and know more about this campaign Army Public School Bathinda conducted a poem recitation activity under the theme ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ for class VI. Students enthusiastically participated in this activity. They recorded their videos and sent to their respective class teachers. Best three entries were judged for different parameters like pronunciation, content, speech clarity, actions and relevance with topic. Following students are the winners of the competition:

INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY ON 21 JUNE 2021
"‘World Yoga Day’"
Yoga is an invaluable gift of India’s ancient tradition. It not only embodies unity of mind and body but also helps in strengthening harmony between man and nature hence resulting in enhancing a holistic approach to health and well-being. World Yoga Day was celebrated by students of Army Public School, Bathinda Mil. Stn. with great enthusiasm. Students of class VII demonstrated various asanas and sent their photos. It encouraged everyone to practice regular yoga with a goal to remain fit and improve concentration. Regular practice of yoga will surely help our students in achieving a healthy and happy life.

WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY on June 5, 2021
"‘GIVE A HOOT FOR THE ROOT’"
The school organized a tree plantation drive to mark World Environment Day on June 5, 2021. Students of class IX showcased their concern towards the environment by planting saplings around their houses. They clicked pictures and shared it with their teachers and classmates and encouraged everyone to participate in the drive enthusiastically. School appreciated the efforts of the students and motivated them to adopt eco-friendly measures to conserve various life forms on the Earth.

IN-SERVICE TEACHER TRAINING PROGRAMME (27/05/2021 – 02/06/2021)
"A teacher can never truly teach unless he is still learning himself. A lamp can never light another lamp unless it continues to bum its own flame."
In-service training is most essential for the professional growth of the teachers. One needs to renovate his/her experience, refresh knowledge, develop a wider outlook, benefit by the experiences of others and acquire new information which further leads to be better job performance . It also helps the teachers to face new challenges and changes in this competitive world. With the same inspiration an In-service Teachers’ Training Programme was conducted online on Microsoft Teams App from 27 May 2021 - 2 June 2021. Programme began with the workshop conducted by Ms Dorthy Bhatti (Coordinator, Jr Wg Extn.), Ms Indu Sharma (PRT) and Ms Divya Yadav (PRT) on ‘National Education Policy 2020 – Vision and Agenda’. Ms Vaishali Bansal (PGT Commerce) and Ms Sonia Anish (PGT Biology) also explained ‘Curriculum and Pedagogy in Schools’, ‘Teacher Education Empowerment’ and ‘Vision of India’s Higher Education System’ as per NEP 2020. Ms Vishakha Priya (TGT counselor), Ms Tejinder Kaur (TGT Special Educator), Ms Rachna Sharma (PRT), Ms Gurinderjeet (PRT), Ms Sukhjeet (PRT) took up the informative sessions on ‘Inclusive Education In schools.’ External resource persons from LPU Jalandhar also motivated and educated the teachers on various topics like ‘Role of Technology in Modern Education’, ‘Personal Branding/ styling’, ‘Managing Work-Life Balance’ and ‘Soft Skills and Public Dealing.’ All the teachers actively participated in the discussions during the workshops. All the workshops proved to be really fruitful.

MOTHER'S DAY on 9th MAY 2021
"When a mother is happy, the family is happy. When the family is happy, the nation is happy."
9 May 2021 was celebrated as Mother’s Day. It is a special day for all children and mothers as it celebrates the bond of love and affection that is everlasting. Students of class VI of Army Public School, Bathinda Mil Stn had a special celebration on Mother’s Day, which reminds that in today’s scenario all girls and boys must help their mothers in daily household chores. It is very important to know at this time of lockdown it has become really difficult for our mothers to do all the work alone and feed us on time. Students made short videos while helping their mothers in daily household chores. The kind and sweet gestures of the students to thank their mothers are truly appreciated.

INTERNATIONAL LABOUR DAY on 1st MAY 2021
"All labour that uplifts humanity has dignity and importance, and hence should be undertaken with painstaking excellence."
To celebrate this painstaking effort of the labour force, that works tirelessly, the International Worker’s Day also called as Labour Day was celebrated at Army Public School, Bathinda Mil. Stn. on 1st May 2021. Labour Day is a reminder for us that these are the real architects of our society, and they deserve their due respect. We have always believed that it is small acts of kindness that count and we attempt to inculcate that same virtue in our children.
To acknowledge the efforts and to express the gratitude to the Group D employees working in the school, they were presented with the refreshment as a mark of respect. In the pandemic situation, a short video of all the of the workers working in the school was sent to all the class WhatsApp groups to forge a better understanding of the labour community among our students who must learn to respect and appreciate their efforts.

WORLD EARTH DAY on 22th APRIL 2021
"Save our World, save our future, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle". Each year the 22nd of April is celebrated as the Earth Day. It is celebrated to create awareness about protecting our planet and preserving the environment. Saving water, reducing pollution, protecting the wildlife, plants and trees, recycling waste are just a few means to saving our environment. Although only one special day is dedicated for this cause, it is the continuous effort of each individual including children that would really make a difference.
A Competition was held at Army Public School, Bathinda Mil Stn. on the occasion of World Earth Day. The thought behind conducting this competition was to make the children more concerned about ‘Mother Earth’. For this, a poster making activity was planned for class VIII in which the students had to make a poster on Earth Day. Many students participated and got positions. Active participation of the students in this activity made them learn about the environment, how they can preserve it and why. All the efforts are truly appreciated.

ELIMINATION OF SINGLE USE PLASTIC
'The people who make the biggest difference are the ones who do the little things consistently.'
Seeking to make India single-use plastic free by 2022, Centre government has proposed a ban on items such as plastic bags, polythene, straws, soda and water bottles and food packaging items etc. To achieve this goal, everybody has to contribute to save the environment from plethora of problems caused by single use plastics. APS, Bathinda is also participating and playing a vital role in this campaign. To make our students aware about this campaign, three activities have been planned as follows:
20th April 2021:	A presentation on elimination of single use plastic was circulated in all the class groups.
26th April 2021:	A video on elimination of single use plastic will be shared in all the class groups.
04th May 2021:		Two teachers of our School Ms. Divya Yadav and Ms.Sonia Rani will motivate the students by a video. This video will be shared in all the class groups. 
 

WORLD HERITAGE DAY on 18th APRIL 2021
At APS Bathinda, we believe that the traditions and cultural awareness play a crucial role in enabling the children to build a strong foundation of belonging and acceptance through cultural celebrations. To preserve the ancient cultures, World Heritage Day is observed on 18th April every year. For this, a collage making activity was planned for class VII in which the students had to make a collage of any five heritage sites of India. Many students participated and got positions. Active participation of the students in this activity made them aware of our rich cultural diversity. The efforts were appreciated by all.

CHRISTMAS CELEBRATIONS

Christmas is a day of meaning and traditions, a special day spent in the warm circle of family and friends To mark the celebration Tree Decoration and Card making Competition was conducted for classes I and II. Beautiful Christmas Trees and Cards were adorned with red and white colour. students were really happy to decorate the Christmas Trees with toffees, glitters and many more things related to Christmas. A video regarding Christmas celebrations by teachers and result of Competition was circulated with the students through class WhatsApp group.


DIWALI AND CHILDREN DAY CELEBRATION

Army Public School Bathinda wished all the students a very happy Children's Day and Diwali, the festival of lights. Students participated in different activities and a video was shared with all the students and parents regarding the result of the winners and warm wishes .


NATIONAL UNITY DAY CELEBRATION

Every year,the National Unity Day (Rastriya Ekta Diwas) is celebrated on 31st October to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.In line with the celebration countrywide, Army Public School Bathinda following the mandate organized various activities in school premises. A pledge on peace and solidarity was administered by the teachers & the students. Various activities were conducted on this day:
(a) Class I- Fancy dress
(b) Class V- Poster Making
(c) Class VII- Collage Making Activity
Note : The theme for the above mentioned activities was ‘Unity in Diversity’

Teachers’ day celebration (5th September,2020)
‘Teaching is not a profession but a way of life’

Teaching is always considered as the most divine responsibility to guide and enlighten the students. It is always said that the future of any country lies in the hands of its children and the teachers can mould the students into future leaders who can shape the destiny of a nation. Teacher's day in Army Public School ,Bathinda was celebrated virtually on Microsoft teams for all the teachers. The highlights of the program were speech, songs ,poems by the teachers. The event concluded with the speech by the Principal who wished and appreciated the teachers for their hard work and dedication. Card making activity was conducted for the students on the occasion of Teachers’ Day. Students exhibited their artistic skills and love for their teachers through their pretty and attractive cards.

CBSE TOPPERS AND TEACHERS FELICITATION CEREMONY
A Felicitation Ceremony was held on 19 August,2020 to celebrate the outstanding performance of CBSE Class XII (2019 – 2020 ) toppers and to recognize the efforts of the teachers . Chairman APS Bathinda Brig S.R. Chaudhuri ,Col Abhinav Batra and Dr. Neelam Batra graced the occasion with their presence . Rebecca Kanwar of XII Commerce , Neeraj of XII Science and Gaurav of XII Science were awarded certificates for their stupendous performance in CBSE board exams by Dr. Neelam Batra , First Lady 7010 EME Bn . Mrs Neeti Garg (PGT English ) and Mrs Beant Kaur (PRT) were given appreciation certificates for their outstanding contribution to the school . Speaking on the occasion Brig S.R. Chaudhuri (Chairman , APS Bathinda ) applauded the efforts of the teachers and students .

INDEPENDANCE DAY CELEBRATION
Lets celebrate the day that gave us the freedom of thoughts,actions, faith and speech !


Army Public School Bathinda celebrated 74th Independence Day on 15 August,2020 in the school premises .Independence Day is a special day to remember the sacrifices of all who fought hard for our country’s Independence .At the same time , it is also a day to pledge our love for the country. This year, Independence Day was celebrated amid the corona virus pandemic, with social distancing guidelines. Program commenced with flag hoisting by the Principal Mrs. Anisha Ghuman ,followed by the National Anthem and speech. Some patriotic songs were sung by Mrs. Papiya Banerjee and Mr. Ram Mehar . Mrs. Renu Arya presented a speech on Independence Day. Live telecast of the celebration was done through Microsoft Teams Application for all the staff members.
